Hackers Compromise A Brazilian Fashion Company
According to Fashion United the gift card subsidiary of C&A Brazil experienced this breach. Personal information related to gift cards were exposed. According to the company, the system involved in gift cards only uses personal data for purposes allowed by law.
Even if a company stores or uses minimum personal data, hackers can still attempt to compromise further data with it. Laws surrounding payment information can sometimes be comprehensive to help fight dangerous organizations around the world. Unfortunately, hackers have used this laws to compromise and breach security of individuals' information.
While you may hear that gift cards provide an extra layer of security, consider this may not be the case. If information is stored in order to purchase the gift card, the storage layer can still be a target.

Unfortunately, this is not the only security breach for 2018. This adds to a growing list of security breaches that have happened this year such as:
- OnePlus security breach
- MyFitnessPal security breach
- Exactis security breach
- Electronic devices involved in a security breach
- Voting systems' security breach
- T-Mobile security breach
- Air Canada security breach
There have been unfortunately more breaches than this list and we're seeing a growing trend of breaches across the world. In speaking with FinTek Development, they expect this trend to continue to grow.
