Hello all! I will join @gmuxx's intergalactic Steem Wars journey with the Rogue Geeks and fellow alliances. You can learn more about Steem Wars - A Parody Too Far in here.

My Steem Wars character will be a parody of one of the arch-villains from the Gundam universe, which I thought will make an interesting cross-over with the Steem War's SW-inspired theme. This post is a short introduction for Kar, and how his adventure begins with the Rogue Geeks. I hope I'll be able to do justice for your original character, Char ;)

Zieg, Zeon!

Background

Food and water shortage, scarce living quarters, costly price hikes plus a widespread pollution, garbage and propagation of disease are just what wracked Earth during the Universal Century (UC) timeline because of overpopulation. Space colonies were made just within the Earth's orbit for excess humans to live in, and to give a chance for Earth to stabilize. People who are in the lower ranks of society— those who cannot "afford" to stay on the luxurious floating rock called Earth were exiled migrated into the space colonies.

It was in outer space while adjusting to living in the colonies that Newtypes emerged true to the theories of the late Zeno, Kar’s father and a philosopher. Zeno believed that humans are meant to leave Earth one day and venture into outer space, where they will achieve the next step in human evolution granting them unnatural physical and psychic powers to adapt in the new environment and most of all, they will develop an enhanced capacity for empathy and more effective communication with one another, ending all conflicts and war.

Newtypes are a new generation of evolved humans that has reached an extreme degree of heightened perception and spatial awareness through long-time exposure and adaptation living in the dark void. Though still human, they now possess otherworldly abilities that enable them to execute devastating maneuvers with unnatural speed, agility, and accuracy in close melee combats especially when they’re piloting mobile suits or any other machine. Feeling and being in sync with the vast, timeless nature of outer space gave them precognition, a foresight of future events not limited to the tiny fractions of branching future details in an-going combat, allowing them to take spontaneous battle reactions on the fly. They are known to bring out the inner beast from an ordinary equipment by pushing it to its limit to serve their heightened perceptions, thus they make as excellent soldiers and mobile suit pilots. Newtypes are known to work well with mobile suits— giant robots with heavy artillery and melee weapons piloted from a cockpit installed inside it, and psychoframes— a technology that allows them to install psycommu into the metal frames of mobile suits enabling them to control it with their brainwaves, making the machine feel more like an extension of their physical bodies. They can sense another Newtype’s presence and communicate telepathically with each other.

And so the war between Newtypes, spacenoids (humans who were born and raised in space) and Oldtypes (those left on Earth) began: Oldtypes seek to rule over the Spacenoids, while Newtypes and Spacenoids wanted independence of control from Earth and turn all humans including the Oldtypes into Newtypes by ushering all of Earth's populace into space.

Character Introduction

Name: Kar Annihilus Char Aznable
Creature class: Human/Newtype
Home: Side 3 space colony

Kar was born and raised in the Side 3 space colony and was sucked into that war at a very young age along with his younger sister, following the assassination of their father. He grew up to be an excellent soldier and an ace mobile suit pilot with a penchant for wearing red space suits and coloring his mobile suits red. With his Newtype abilities, he became known as the “Red Comet” as he strikes fear and sure-death to enemy units using lightning-fast red mechas trailing with burning red flares from customized thrusters that are 4 times faster than an average human pilot can tolerate. His face was seldom shown to the world, hidden behind a mask or huge stylish sunglasses whenever he needed to attend social functions to conceal his identity from the assassins who are hunting down the rest of his family.

He infiltrated the military ranks with his excellent piloting skills and charismatic leadership qualities, and he soon avenged his father’s death by cunningly orchestrating the demise of the ruling family who was his father’s killers. Now that his revenge was accomplished, he turned his actions and energies into making his father’s ideology into a reality. He lived on Earth for quite a while and lost faith in humanity when he realized that more and more humans are getting corrupted every day. He was last seen in space defending his last outrageous mission from an old-time rival Newtype before being declared MIA— dropping an enormous asteroid base to Earth. The impact will cause a nuclear winter that will render Earth uninhabitable and survivors, if any are left will be forced to migrate to space and evolve into Newtypes.

How Kar found Himself in the SteemWars Universe

Aftermath of the Battle

He remembered seeing a blinding flash of green light that engulfed everything and then there was total darkness. He felt warm and strangely at peace after that, as he felt himself floating and drifting, like a weightless debris of floating consciousness in a familiar territory that he knew so well.

He couldn’t exactly remember how long he has been drifting, thinking, suspended in this dream-like state for he dared not open his eyes— afraid of what he might see. Or might not see. Felt like eons, it seems. But then he could just be dreaming and what felt like eons could actually just be a few days. Or maybe just a few hours. The vast void that is outer space is known to play tricks on unwary travelers, and throw circadian rhythms out of beat. Whichever it is he willed himself to stay asleep floating, dreaming, uncaring if that’s what it is.

This time he has failed in more ways than one, but he couldn’t care less. Ray-ban has utterly defeated him in duel. The explosion of green light emitted by the overloaded psychoframe reactions in his custom MSN-Sabee mobile suit and Ray-bans’s Mu, fueled by his nemesis’ frying Newtype brainwaves and the combined human wills of allies and enemies alike to halt the asteroid base was truly a marvelous sight to behold, a luminous green beacon of miracle that steered the Axle space colony away from its collision path to Earth in a blinding flash and trail of green particles that orbited the Earth like a comet.

“Foolish Earthlings you have been saved this day. Remember it well as you speed towards the future,” he whispered to no one in particular as he resigned himself to rest eternally in the cosmos.

Once more he felt his mind and thoughts dissipating as if being merged with the vast, dark void. That’s when he thought he heard an unnatural, mechanical breathing of someone that slowly mingled with his. It started with a faint sound and he thought it might just be in his head.

“..I. Am. Your. Father.” He heard the voice say in a low, guttural voice as mechanical as its breathing.

“Noooooo...! No, that can’t be. Nooo… ” He heard a high-pitched scream of someone in shock and in denial. And then acceptance and anguish.

With a jolt he woke up and opened his eyes for the first time and thumped his helmet with his fists, making sure he wasn’t dreaming. The voices were gone now but he can feel them calling from afar.

Other forces were calling, too.

He felt the call of distinct opposing forces reaching out for his soul. One calls sweetly with the promise of absolute power, supremacy and an instant fulfillment of desires, by forging a path wreaked from brute strength, havoc and destruction. The other one feels as strong as the latter, but is gentler, even kind and is surrounded by deep mysteries. He ignored the calls as he raised his arms and saw for the first time traces of the green glowing particles outlining his arms and body before they vanished like smoke. Unsure of what he’d seen, he turned around to look for life support and other usable equipment for communication that might be floating in the debris. He sent some distress signals from his damaged radio.

“I’ll get even with you, Ray-ban.” He said to himself as he propelled towards his heavily-damaged MSN Sabee floating in the distance and halted with a shock when he couldn’t sense the other Newtype’s presence. He couldn’t sense his crew and even the enemies’ presence either.

Then he saw for the first time the atmosphere of a reddish-brown planet with a few tinges of white that couldn’t be Earth before him, illuminated by a moon. Mars perhaps, he thought. To his far left, some kilometers away loomed an unknown class triangular-shaped battleship that’s way gigantic than any of the Earth Federation Alliance or Neo-Zeon space battleships that he’s ever known, judging its size by his thumb.

He heard his radio transmitter screech from his helmet as if picking up some radio signals.

The choppy voice over the radio sounds human, and its voice became more audible as an unknown mid-sized battlecruiser ship approached fast his way. He read,

“Rogue Geeks: Conquering the galaxy with geekery.”
Painted on its side when it got close enough.

“Identify yourself, pilot. Call-sign?”
The voice over the radio said.

“Cha—” he stopped short, as a dawn of realization swept across his face. That was his name from another time, another place.

“ My name is Kar Annihilus. Call-sign Trailblazer.”

He heard some other voices convening inaudibly over the radio, but he can hear their passionate thoughts quite well with his Newtype sense.

“Don’t be fooled, he could be a spy. Just look at his mask.
Masked even with a space suit on.”

“Seems fair enough. No Imperial army troop or Sith
would have a get-up that’s all in red.”

“Even his strange spacecraft that looked like a fat AT-ST
with arms and a head is red, too.”

“We need all geek forces that we can muster.”

“I say we recruit him and find out later the face behind that mask.”

“And that fetish for red.”

“Okay.”

“What’s with all this geekery?” Kar mused to himself as he felt a few veins bulge in his head. A long silence ensued and soon, a small latch opened from the ship.

“Welcome aboard the Rogue Geeks, Kar Annihilus.” He heard the voice over the radio speak.
