El ataque al USS STEIN
La fragata estadounidense USS Stein comenzó a experimentar graves fallos en su sistema de sonar (su oído submarino) durante una misión.
Al regresar a puerto y examinar el revestimiento de goma de su domo antisubmarino, los ingenieros descubrieron la causa: la cubierta de caucho reforzado de la nave aparecía cortada, desgarrada en un 8% de su superficie, con marcas de grandes garras y más de 60 profundos cortes, de los cuales algunos llegaban a medir más de 1,20 metros (4 pies).
