Happy Independence Day
Happy 4th of July!!
As most of us should know it is Independence Day here in the United States. Many people do not know that it is also Rwanda's Independence Day! Happy Liberation Day to you all as well!!!
As an American I feel a great sense of pride for what we have accomplished in our relatively short time as a nation. I will not get into the whole debate of if Nationalism is good or bad. I will also not apologize for what my ancestors have done. These can be topics for another day. I will, however, invite everyone to celebrate the birthday of the greatest nation in the history of the world! We should all agree that we live in the greatest place in the world and at the greatest time in history. We are lucky to have been blessed with this.
I have traveled all over the world during my time serving in the Armed Forces. (4 years USMC and 8 years US Army) The majority of the world would beg and do anything to live a bad day in the USA. Even those who live in very wealthy nations do not enjoy the freedoms and luxuries that are taken for granted here.
it is terribly wet and rainy here in Metro Houston, Texas so I will be celebrating inside with my family. I have already rested and will be ready to work again tomorrow. Here is a screenshot of The Weather Channel:
Be safe and responsible this holiday and do not overdo the alcohol consumption and think you are still coordinated enough to handle explosives (it's a shame we have to give this disclaimer).
