Introducing science-trail, the science curating team of the SteemTrail initiative

in #steemtrail8 years ago (edited)

As mentioned in our title, science trail is a part of the SteemTrail project, with a focus on science. We are a group of curators attracted by good science posts and that will operate independently from the main steemtrail account (to which we will recommend posts for upvotes). We will be curating posts that contain science in the tag list and our goal is to highlight and support all type of understandable, informative and factually accurate posts connected to science.

As for all SteemTrail-supported posts, we encourage authors to make sure that:

  • Citations are very important for any scientific writing. When one writes about science, one is usually discussing facts. Unless the writer is an expert in the field under consideration, it is likely that things have been looked up from somewhere. Please provide credit to where you looked things up.
  • For any used video or image, please include appropriate credits too.
  • Try to make the post human readable. You can use titles, subtitles, headers, etc.
  • Please use only relevant tags.
  • We will blacklist any user caught of plagiarism.

Whenever appropriate, we will provide comments to help authors comply with the above guidelines. If you want to support this initiative, please consider using your voting power to support us.

If you are interested to join our team of science curators, please join us on the chat.

Will cold fusion be part of your list of good science ?

That is a hard question, as cold fusion has not been convincingly demonstrated but not really debunked either, as far as I (@kooshikoo) can understand. So it would depend on the article, and the claims that it makes. If it makes claims that are not backed by solid research, as if they are facts, then @science-trail has to consider it pseudoscience.
But articles on cold fusion are not a problem per se.
