HIS FESTIVE MOOD | Under the Scorching Heat of the Sun
Embracing photography has been a very gratifying feeling for me when I capture photos that suits my eyes. Photos can express a lot of emotions. I love capturing moments although I am not a pro and I am still learning in this field of photography. Taking photos at the beach, astounding sunsets, nature, portraits and on the streets are what I am fond of, my stress reliever.
These photos that I am showing you are one of my captured moments during the time when I had the chance to witness a grand event here in Cebu City. It was then the "Sinulog Festival 2016", the grandest festival of the Queen City of the South.
I remember during that time, I took a lot of photos but this man caught my attention when I passed by him. He was in the middle of the street, happily celebrating the festival, walking and waving his hands to people, wearing a white grass skirt, accessory on his neck, a spear and a sword on his left hand.
Watching him, he was bathed in somewhat like motor oil, straps wrapped on his body, and he was sweating. It was almost noon time, then he stopped for awhile getting a drink. Walking on the streets while the heat of the sun was strikingly getting into his skin was way too hot for him. As I was watching, I captured shots from the camera where it could tell he was longing for a drink. Under the scorching heat of the sun, who wouldn’t want to gulp down some liquid? But then you see, even though it was an exhausting feeling for him, he managed to show people how festive the event as he was enjoying it.
