SteemSTEM Distilled #46
Welcome to the 46th issue of SteemSTEM Distilled, a curation effort by the members of the @steemstem team.
SteemSTEM is a community driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts on Steemit. The project involves curating STEM-related posts through upvoting, resteeming, offering constructive feedback, supporting scientific contests, and other related activities.
For more details, a recent update on the steemSTEM can be found here, and a not so recent one there. Moreover, if you ask yourself about what it means to be part of steemSTEM, please check here.
Our team scours the platform for original and quality content.
After working through thousands (literally!) of STEM-related posts and upvoting more than 150 that we deemed to be worthy, we proudly present you our top 8 handpicked choices for this Thursday-Sunday period.

For the sake of transparency we feel we need to clarify how our nomination process works; each issue is compiled by certain members of the SteemSTEM community. This week's editorial team was comprised of @ruth-girl.
The editorial team chooses their favorite posts for the week and each issue is the result of their joined effort. In order to keep the process fair, posts written by the editorial team are excluded from the nomination process.
Don't be discouraged if you didn't make it on this issue. The competition is harsh and there is always a next time :) In the meantime, you may wish to check these guidelines for extra tips on how your writing can be more effective.
In the same spirit of being transparent about our actions that are now supported by @curie, we will release every week a list of authors who have caught the attention of the @steemstem curation team.
If you want to discuss this with us, please do not hesitate to join the steemSTEM discord server or to follow our curation trail (just ask us for more information on the chat for details).
From April 15 to April 22, we rewarded 130 different authors who have written a total of 173 different articles. The authors who received both a @steemstem and a @curie vote that week are:

See you all next Thursday!
Congratulations to all authors.
As you can see in the picture below (sometimes a report is good), steemstem uses almost 100% of its available voting power to reward more than 200 posts a week by more than 170 unique authors.
[upvoted for visibility]
The steemstem community feels a lot healthier since the "Taking a Break" and "Rebooting" post went out about 2 months ago.
People feel more engaged and posts seem to get more lively comment threads going.
There is still a long way to go but we are getting there.
I agree with this analysis! Things are way better! :)
Dit dont tu est dans toutes les réponses !!!
👍👍
If you ask me, I'd say there is no other community on steemit, that does as much as steemstem when it comes to encouraging good content and fostering healthy engagement among its members. I doff my hat for the management.
I would even say: the management and the entire team :)
I agree with you, the entire team deserves it.
Thank you for this good work and the contributions to the science community.
You are welcome!
You guys do a lot to encourage new writers. Thanks again

Whoo, thanks for including me. That post was outside my little comfort zone and I'm glad to see that it was well-received.
Apologies for a reply that comes so late (next distilled is already out), but it's a really bus period for us :)
Your work is great! We are happy to curate it!
Here's a late reply to a reply. Don't ever feel the need to apologize for telling me my work is great :).
You are aware that steemSTEM doesn't upvote posts that have used bidbots? And we don't upvote memes? And we check for plagiarism? And unvote posts that are later found to be stolen content?
Maybe you're not.
No. Do what you will, original content. Have a sense of humor, life is shit.. oops short.
Yes
I congratulate all authors whose work passed the distill process.Lets all keep up the good work. To the management I say well done. @ruth-girl ,we appreciate your effort. @lemouth ,thanks for always updating us. Knowing fully well that you have a lot at hand, personally and on the community,I say well done.
I can only re-emphasize what ruth just said: thanks to you ^^
Thank you!! Your support and participation means a lot!!
Very diverse both multi-subject and multi-author selection. You guys rock. Congratulations to to the distilled!
It is also wonderful to see that so many people here appreciate the good work. Lets extend that love to the featured authors and share some thoughts! Look them up and add your own massive vote and giant comment!
Diversity is necessary to cover for as many interests as possible!
Well said @mirrors! This series of posts are meant to promote worthy authors, so always feel free to support posts you like, everyone! :)
True. And you did a god job on these ones. I have visited one or two already.
They are good, and deserve a place on SteemSTEM Distilled.
