The World Was About to End. Few Analog Photos from SteemSTEM Meetup @ CERN

It was a cold day of February. A group of the 20 greatest minds from Steemit received a call and they already knew that they had to appear THERE immediately. Something happened at CERN and it wasn't any good. They knew that the end was as close as never before.

They divided themselves into groups to increase their chances of success. If one of them had not returned, the other would have had a chance to change something. There were no birds at the CMS station anymore. The car was on fire, but there was no driver at the wheel.

Few stayed inside. Command centres and computer rooms were almost empty. Only those who had nothing to lose stayed: lonely, miserable, and mad. Thanks to them, all of this was still running somehow. But everyone thought it was too late. The event has already occurred and there was not much to do about it.

An empty bottle of champagne - a vague memory of success, an old discovery in this place that happened in this place. Nobody remembered what it was all about. It did not matter anymore.

Sirens rang out and the emergency lights switched on. Visitors started to experience some kind of narrowing of consciousness.

How can a human being behave in the face of the ultimate things? Few manage to lift the burden of responsibility for the existence of the universe. Nobody wanted to take on this role at that time, but they knew that if they did not succeed, nobody would. Nobody but them would save the core of existence.

When they went downhill, they knew that there was no way back. They used 100% of their brains like no one else before - using a special Tibetan technique they had learned especially for this type of occasion - which allowed them to overcome the limitations they were supposed to encounter in the heart of the Great Hadron Collider.

There was a bang and a flash of seledine light. They all woke up on the surface a few hours later. Some were stunned, depersonalised and others had motor problems. Everybody, however, remained alive.

Nobody remembers what happened. Today we only know that thanks to twenty heroes, the world still exists and science can grow and evolve further and faster than ever before. The world will never be the same again as it was before the Event. However, no one will forget them anymore.
