The concept of alternative energy comes to mind. And even though nothing quite significant has been achieved in this regard, progress is being made and I do not doubt the ability of man to find viable solutions when pressed.

I hope that is right. Maybe the new power generation tech will be ready in time. However things like the ITER fusion plant seem to be moving at a bureaucratic snail's pace.
