Contact less future in technology: The near field technology

According to nearfieldcommunication.org...

Near field communication, abbreviated NFC, is a form of contactless communication between devices like smartphones or tablets.

I know this sounds like the bluetooth tech to some people, and we even wonder what a technology like this serves to prove, but when we factor in difficulties like even getting bluetooth devices to connect , suitable and updated hotspot/WiFi sending apps, the stress involved in even pairing sometimes leaves this technology as a suitable option.

A notable step up in this technology is the method in which it functions. As against your standard bluetooth apps which are radio wave centered, the near field technology focuses on electromagnetic waves, which is not only a step up, but a faster and more effective upgrade.

The security design of the near field technology is another plus which gives it an edge over standard WiFi and bluetooth connections. It is also worthy of note that the principles of cloning technology which gives users the ability to copy your phone's entirety simply from close contact also functions on a near field technology like principle.

Although this technology is deficient in terms of range and can offer best efficiency at close proximity of up to 7 cm, this is a major disadvantage to the technology, however it's nature in advanced forms is such that modification can be made to another person's phone with the right authorization and no one will be any wiser.

This technology came to lime light in the early 2000's although some conspiracy theorists suggest that it has been available long before then and had been in use by the government for covert purposes, but I cannot say for sure.
One erroneous belief people have about the near field technology is that it only applies to phones, sadly, it is wrong.

Even automated teller machine cards used for what is called contactless payments which prevents the need to swipe and possibly have your card cloned by fraudsters (a scenario which hardly happens, but still happens).
Another beauty of this technology especially in mobile phones is its ability to prevent constant selection of content for transfer. Once you have everything all set up, bring the devices together and watch the magic happen.

I hope that one day, instead of having to swipe, input pin, swipe and repeat the process continually, we'll just simply adopt the near field technology or any of it's offshoot which the near field technology pioneered.
The possibility of mass adoption of such a technology greatly entices me and I have to admit that the future even looks brighter looking at it in the near field communication style.

Its a cool technology. I really enjoy how google has made synchronization between phones and laptops easy with data connection available. It makes no need to enter passwords on chrome and its very efficient. This technology could be used rather than the chrome feature for safer use. This is the thought that came into my mind. If it could be set up to store all you passwords and used to login upon your fingerprint or other security measurement, its a perfect technology.

Contact less technology has a lot of potential application, apart from obvious uses for card less payment, it can also be used in file transfer

Beautiful summary.

a good concept from the tech guys. but i hope our government welcome the upgrade and also allow it. Seriously, there is no such thing like this without a possible health deteriorating side effect, or don't you think?

Due to its short range that is why it is near field communication. My only grouse is only a limited number of phones have that capability. Mainly seen in high range phones.

Just learnt something new 2day. A technology that uses electromagnetic waves. Its is a great upgrade. The fact that it is faster is enough development for me

NFC is an awesome technology but it is yet to be used on a large scale. people still rely on bluetooth ans wifi for their connectivity.
