RE: Health : Vitamin-D A Worldwide Deficiency

in #steemstem6 years ago

I don't agree with this:

In the current world, we might have become economically wealthy but health wise deficient.

I think our knowledge about our health, and our health itself is the best in our whole history.

We are living the best times of humanity right now, including our health of course.

Even if we don't have perfect health (for now) we are doing extremely well, don't you agree?

Indeed we have a greater awareness and the times are getting better day by day in whatever areas you pick infant mortality, healthcare services etc. But at the same time, the only trade-off I see is that in this advancement we are somehow trading off our lifestyle which in turn can be dangerous for overall health.

For example, if you see this article here. Especially the people who are living a comfortable might be self-sufficient economically but losing big on health.

trading off our lifestyle

What do you mean by that? Yes there are unhealthy people, and wealthy but unhealthy people. But the health in the past was worse than what it is today.

We should not romanticize the past, our world today is better in every sense, and our health and level of live, is also better than ever. And it will certainly keep getting better, as always, thanks to technology.

@dedicatedguy thanks for taking out the time for the read. I do agree with you with a greater extent on this but if you see the see the current healthcare state. We might have been able to overcome the health facility but at the same time gave birth to so many lifestyle diseases, and we keep on hearing about them day by day.

For example Vitamin D is the most abundant and cheapest Vitamin that you may see, yet we are deficient of it.

Our health is not perfect, that's for sure. But I do think our health is better than it was before. The same happens with our live, we have better lives now than in the past.

@dedicatedguy
Yes I agree that as a whole, our knowledge about health is something that's bigger than its ever been, but the percentage of people that are health conscious appears to be horrifically low.

Probably, but it might still be higher than it was before.

I do see a trend among people about leading healthy lives, like eating healthy food, doing exercise, among other things.

Not everyone is healthy, but at least anyone can be healthy is the propose it to themselves, which wasn't the case in the past.
