OK, I think that end was a bit rushed. Your opinion is noted.
I'd like to suggest an alternate explanation other than extra terresterials.
My understanding is that some of the Egyptian pyramids are MUCH older than previously thought.

Consider a bit of history.
15 or 20 thousand years ago..the glaciers melted. Prior to the melting ten percent MORE dry land, and very nice land at that were available for human occupation. Doggerland (north sea), undersea cities off the Coast of Egypt, Japan, Cuba and India as well as artificacts drug up by fishing nets all over the world indicate that that land was indeed occupied.
The glaciation lasted from at LEAST 74K years ago when the Mt. Toba global catastrophe occured. Mankind had AT LEAST 50K years of relative stabilty to build civilizations, the remnants of which are under four hundred foot of water off shore.
What level of technology did they develop?
How far have WE advanced in 500 years? How far could THEY have advanced in 50,000 years?
Hence, I submit that no aliens are required.
