Vintage Dwayne Wade Scores 28 Points to Lead Miami Past Philly in Game 2

Dwayne Wade turned the clock back with a vintage performance, scoring 28 points to put an end to Philadelphia’s 17-game winning streak, and lead the Miami Heat to a 113-103 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their first round playoffs match-up on Monday night. Miami evened up the series with 1 game a piece. Wade also collected 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. The 36 year old passed Larry Bird for 10th all-time on the career postseason scoring list. Just like the old times, Wade carried Miami to a postseason win hitting big time buckets. Wade made his first seven shots of the game.
Goran Dragic helped Dwayne Wade in scoring, as he finished the game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists while James Johnson had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Wayne Ellington made three 3-pointers and had a total of 11 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal, and 1 assist. Josh Richardson added 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks and Center Kelly Olynyk had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
Ben Simmons led the Sixers recording 24 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 blocks; meanwhile, Dario Saric had 23 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block. Ersan Ilyasova earned the starting center role for the first time in Embiid’s absence over Amir Johnson. He finished the game notching a double-double, scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 steal. JJ Redick only shot 30.8 percent from the field, scoring only 11 points with 1 rebound and 4 assists while Robert Covington had 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block on 23.1 percent shooting. Marco Belinelli added 16 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal. The Sixers had a bad shooting night from the three point territory. Covington shot 1 of 9, Saric got 3 of 10, Redick was 1 of 7, and Belinelli made just 2 out of 8 attempts.
The Sixers struggled to make a basket in the first half. After making a team playoff record of 18 made threes in Game 1, they missed 16 of their 18 attempts from the three point line in the first half of Game 2. Covington missed all of his five attempts and Saric missed 4. The Sixers almost made a huge comeback after cutting a 16 point deficit down to just 2 points late in the fourth quarter. But, Dwayne Wade buried 2 big baskets that prevented Philadelphia from coming back and tied the series before it shifts to Miami for Game 3.
All-star center, Joel Embiid, was still absent in Game 2. Embiid had enough, and went on Instagram to rant after the loss. He said on his Instagram post that he is tired of being babied. He wants to play and help his team, badly. Coach Brett Brown said, “I can’t wait to get him back, He to me, is the difference maker. Joel changes the dynamics in many ways of this team. There will be a reintroduction of him back into the team.”Game 3 is on Thursday in Miami.

Man look at D-Wade looking like vintage D-Wade and leading the Heat to a big win. If he can somehow keep up that level of play going forward, we are in store for a heck of a series and he's going to have to I think if Miami is going to continue to slow down the Sixers. Can't wait to see what game 3 brings. Nice recap
