The Royals and Tigers play the lone day game in the MLB

The Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers get their weekend series started today. First pitch is at 12:10pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Kansas City and Fox Sports Detroit. It will take place at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit. The Royals are slight favorites at -111 and the over/under is -8.
It has been a mixed start to the season for the Detroit Tigers. They have shown flashes of brilliance but also have blown some games that they should of won. Today, they are sending Michael Fulmer to the mound who is 1-2 on the year so far with an ERA of 3.86. The bats for the Tigers have yet to heat up and they only have one player batting over .300. Victor Martinez is batting .314. Migel Cabrera is hitting .283 and has hit 2 home runs but the slugger has looked much better since the opening week.
The Kansas City Royals have gotten off to a terrible start to the season and are only 3-13. The are giving the ball to Jason Hammel today to try and get things turned around. Hammel is 0-1 with an ERA of 3.86 this year. But pitching hasn’t been the main issue for the Royals. Their hitting is absolutely awful. Mike Moustakas is batting .348 but no one else on the team is hitting over .271. If this continues, it is going to be a LONG summer for the Kansas City Royals.
Today’s game features two solid pitchers and 2 struggling offenses. This should be a low scoring game with not a lot of fireworks.

Royals are a dumpster fire this year. They are stuck in baseball purgatory. They are neither rebuilding nor are they competing. This is going to be a horrible year for them.
