The Mariners host the Tigers tonight in Seattle

The Seattle Mariners host the Detroit Tigers in American League action in the MLB on Friday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 9:10pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on MLB Extra Innings or locally on Fox Sports Detroit. It will take place at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. The Mariners are heavy favorites at -172 and the over/under is 7.5 runs.
It is weird times for the Mariners as last week they were flying high with one of the best rosters that they have had in years. But then one of their stars, Robinson Cano, was suspended for 80 games for failing a drug test for Performance Enhancing Drugs. He is also suspended for the playoffs, if Seattle makes it that far. But the task will be a lot harder with him away from the team and off of the field.
Tonight they will send King Felix Hernandez to the mound. Just a few years ago, he was one of the most feared pitchers in baseball. But his ERA this year is very concerning at 5.66. Hernandez has gotten some strong run support this year and is 5-3 though. Will he bounce back to his dominate days?
The Detroit Tigers are struggling this season. They enter tonight with a 20-23 record. The good news for them though, is that their division is awful. They are only a couple games behind the Indians in the AL Central.
The Tigers will give the ball to pitcher Michael Fulmer tonight. He is just 1-3 on the year with an ERA of 4.37. His WHIP is 1.35 and he has had some good starts.
Tonight’s game should favor the home team Seattle Mariners. But if King Felix continues to struggle, the Tigers could sneak out a win.

I’m in Seattle. Loss of Cano is huge as we had one of our best lineups in years. I love Felix but his best days are behind him playing wise.
