The Cleveland Indians beat the Chicago Cubs again tonight

The Cleveland Indians continued there dominance this year over the Chicago Cubs when they won tonight 1-0. The game took place at Wrigley Field and for the second night in a row the home team Cubs failed to score more than a run. The pitching performance by the Indians was dynamite for back to back games and they are now on a roll and have the top of the American League Central all to themselves.

Adam Plutko pitched a great game for Cleveland. He threw 85 pitches in 6 innings and only gave up 2 hits and kept the Cubs scoreless. He would have 4 walks on the day but was able to keep that from hurting them. Miller and Allen came in relief and kept the scoreboard at zero for the night. The Indians would score their lone run off of a Michael Brantley single in the 3rd inning and that would be enough to get the win.

The Chicago Cubs are on a cold streak at the plate and are searching for answers. Jon Lester pitched a hell of a game but with no run support, he took the loss. The entire team would only account for 3 hits all night and never even had a runner in scoring position.

The Indians will travel home to host the Houston Astros on Thursday and the Cubs will enjoy a day off before starting their weekend series with the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field.
