The Boston Red Sox host the New York Yankees

The series that we have all been waiting for is finally here. The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will do battle in a best of 5 game series in the American League playoffs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:32pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on TBS. It will take place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The Red Sox are big favorites at -168 and the over/under is 7 runs. The eventual winner of this series will play against the winner of the Houston Astros vs Cleveland Indians with a shot at the World Series.
Everything was working right this year for the Boston Red Sox. The were on fire all season and never looked back. The Sox would end up with a record of 108-54 which was only 8 games short of the all-time record. The American League East was never in questions.
Mookie Betts was one of the biggest reasons for the big success this summer. He is batting .346 and has hit 32 homeruns. He will definitely be in the conversation for A.L. MVP.
Tonight they will give the ball to their best pitcher, Chris Sale. It was another outstanding season for Sale who is one of the most dominant pitchers in the MLB. Sale has an ERA of 2.11 and won 12 games with only 4 loses. He will have his hands full though with a loaded Yankees offense.
In fact, the Yankees set the all-time homerun record in the MLB. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge were two of the biggest reasons for the teams 267 homers. The team had eleven players that hit at least 10 homeruns this year which is unbelievable.
The Yankees will counter with J.A. Happ tonight on the mound. The veteran pitcher spend most of the year as a Toronto Blue Jay but was picked up by the Yankees late in the season. He is now rewarded with facing the Red Sox line up in their home stadium. Happ is 10-6 so far this year with an ERA of 4.18.
This series is going to be a good one. The Yankees and the Red Sox is one of the best rivalries in all of sports. The league and the television channels that are carrying the playoffs are thrilled and they will have huge ratings .
