• 4 managers have been sacked in the current English Premier League Season
• The first manager Frank de Boer was sacked after only 4 games in charge
• Frank de Boer now holds the shortest managerial tenure/reign in premier league history.
• Slaven Bilic was statistically the West Ham’s best manager in years

It is commonly said that "hiring and firing is part of the game of football." Over time, that statement has been proven to be true, with the ouster and hiring of top managers in the game.

It is also said that "a manager is as good as his last game." Having said all that, the English Premier League is not all about the players and the huge amount spent on their salaries. Managers are also part of the in and outs of any particular season.

The current EPL season has seen a lot of drama in terms of on the field performances, and of the field antics by both players and managers.

We are going to, however, focus on the 4 managers who have seen the exit doors of the clubs they started the current season with. Here is the list of the English Premier League sacked managers in the present 2017/2018 season and their statistics:

Frank de Boer (born 15th May 1970)

Sack Date: Mon 11th Sep

Club: Crystal Palace

Time spent at Club: 77 days

47-year- old former Dutch footballer and former Ajax of Amsterdam manager, Frank de Boer, was the first casualty of this season’s “manager-sacking- series.” His sack from Crystal Palace wasn’t really a surprise to the followers of the league either, as his side failed to score a goal or record a point after their first 4 games of the season. As impatient as his sacking might have been by the club owners, a rather curious choice, Roy Hodgson, was picked and appointed as his replacement.

Craig Shakespeare (born 26th Oct 1963)

Sack Date: Tue 17th Oct

Club: Leicester City

Time spent at Club: 236 days

Craig Shakespeare, who became the first English manager to win his first four Premier League games, took over from Claudio Ranieri after the latter’s shock sacking in February this year, despite winning the Premier league the previous year. Shakespeare eventually earned a three-year contract in the summer. He was however sacked after 8 league games this season.

Ronald Koeman (born 21st Mar 1963)

Sack Date: Mon 23rd Oct

Club: Everton

Time spent at Club: 496 days

A brilliant and fantastic player in his days, three-time Eredivisie winner Ronald Koeman arrived in the Premier League in 2014, after managing top teams Ajax and PSV Eindhoven to league successes. He managed Southampton from 2014 and led them to back-to-back 7th and 6th placed finishes - an impressive achievement for a very modest English side. He, however, moved to Everton in 2016.

Slaven Bilic (born 11th Sep 1968)

Sack Date: Mon 6th Nov

Club: West Ham United

Time spent at Club: 881 days

Former West Ham defender, Slaven Bilic, has managed European clubs like Besiktas, Lokomotiv Moscow, as well as his national country U-21 side and the Croatian national team; significantly memorable for preventing England from qualifying for Euro 2008. He went on to reach the quarterfinals of the Euro 2008 with Croatia. Bilic is multilingual, holds a degree in law and is also a music star, favored for playing the guitar in a music band.

Thanks for reading @sylviamiller

Nice post ! Premier League bosses are under more pressure than ever to succeed as money and expectations continue to rise across the top flight.

Thank you for sharing !!

Nice information nya

There's a typo in the title.

Ok, thanks @littlevoice. It'd be fixed. Thanks for your observation

Thank you! We have fixed it now :)

And two of them received big transfer budgets to no avail. The EPL is very fast paced and there is no patience for any manager that doesn't bring good results quickly.

Lolz.... @xfcedy, you are spot on. Slaven Bilic and Ronald Koeman didn't do a very good job with the transfer largesse they were given during the transfer window.

the everton was the saddest for me, am looking for the day they will send Arsene Wenger home , he is destroying arsenal from inside out , i stopped watching their games though am a big arsenal fan,

Yea @joendegz. I can feel your pain and that of other arsenal fans at the trouble phase arsenal is in right now. Missing out of the UCL wasn't very easy to bear. Starting the season unconvincingly as well, doesn't instil any confidence that things would improve or that the team can get back into the top 4. But then again, football is unpredictable. And as always, the arsenal board hold all the cards, in terms of Wenger's position.
