Sweet 16 Preview: Villanova vs West Virginia

The #1 Villanova Wildcats clash with the #5 West Virginia Mountaineers tonight in the Sweet 16 of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The game tips off at 6:27pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on TBS. It will take place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Villanova is favored by 5.5 points and the over/under is 152.5 points.

Villanova is coming off of a very impressive win over the Alabama Crimson Tide by the score of 81-58 on Saturday. The score was close at the half and them Makil Bridges absolutely exploded! He would score 20 points in the first five minutes of the second half and the blow out was on. It was one of the best stretches of basketball that I have ever seen. Bridges may have just make himself a potential number 1 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft with that performance.

West Virginia also laid the wood on their opponent. They beat the Marshall Thundering Herd on Sunday 94-71 and the game was never in doubt. Point guard Javon Carter was dynamite for the Mountaineers. He would have a game high 28 points including shooting 5-7 from the 3 point line. As a team they would shoot 48% from deep and nearly 90% from the free throw line. It is almost impossible to beat a Bob Huggins coached team with those statistics.

This is going to be one hell of a game. Both of these teams are looking great and it will be fun to watch. There should be plenty of offense and the winner might be the first team to 80 points.
