The #5 Kentucky Wildcats take on the #9 Kansas State Wildcats in the second week of the 2018 NCAA Tournament tonight. The game tips off at 8:37pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on CBS. It will take place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Kentucky is favored by 5 points and the over/under is 137 points.

Kentucky is coming off of a blowout win over the Buffalo Bulls 95-75 on Saturday. Everything was working for them and they played their best game of the season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was on fire. He hit 10-12 field goals and was perfect from the 3 point line. He would finish with a game high 27 points. Wenyen Gabriel was a beast on the boards and grabbed 12 rebounds. Head coach John Calipari has his team peaking at exactly the perfect time!

Kansas State made it to tonight’s game by ending the Cinderella run of UMBC. After falling behind early, they got their stride and won 50-43. Barry Brown Jr. was the leading scorer with 18 points. Head coach Bruce Webber will need to generate much more than 50 points to have a chance at moving on tonight. Kentucky will try and push the pace and Kansas State will have to get hot from deep to keep up.
This will be a low scoring game as the two contrasting styles will battle it out. I don’t think that Kansas State has the dogs to keep up with Kentucky and expect John Calipari and company to be moving on to the Elite 8 on Saturday.
