Sweet 16 Preview: Duke vs Syracuse

The #2 Duke Blue Devils and the #11 Syracuse Orange will battle in the Sweet 16 tonight of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The game tips off at 8:37pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on CBS. It will take place at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Duke is favored by 11 points and the over/under is 133.5 points.

Duke is yet to really be tested in this tournament. They are coming off of a 87-62 win over the Rhode Island Rams on Saturday. Marvin Bagley III was incredible with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Grayson Allen had a quiet 10 points including 3-4 from deep. Duke shot the ball well from every spot on the court and they were up by 17 points at the half and never looked back.

Syracuse just pulled one of the biggest upsets of the tournament. They beat Michigan State 55-53 and the game was played in Detroit, Michigan so it was essentially a home game for the Spartans. But that did not scare the Orange. Tyus Battle led the way with 17 points and played great down the stretch. Frank Howard fouled out for Syracuse with about 6 minutes left and the rarely used Braedon Bayer had to come in and finish the game. Bayer would have one huge steal and one huge block down the stretch that helped to get the W.

This should be a great game tonight. Duke has much more talent and depth but Syracuse head coach Jim Boheim has his team playing their best basketball of the year and it could go down to the wire.
