Sunday's Fantasy Football Stars

What a glorious first NFL Sunday of 2017. Scoring came sporadically throughout the day as the defense stole the show this weekend. The “Under” went 9-2 on the day games and that equates to a low Fantasy Football Point Total for the day. Although the Kansas City Chiefs offense exploded on Thursday night in the season kickoff against the Patriots, the end zone was much harder to find today.
Let's breakdown the Fantasy Football Leaders by position today:
Quarterback: Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions is the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. Today he justified that new contract by completing 29/41 passes for 292 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He earned 27.1 fantasy points.
Running Back: Tarik Cohen of the Chicago Bears, a name no one had heard of before today, had the breakout game of the day in the NFL. He is a late round draft pick from North Carolina A&T and wasn't expected to contribute much. He carried the ball 5 times for 66 yards. But he also had 8 catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. He will be the hot pick on the waiver wire on Tuesday. He earned 25.3 fantasy points.
Wide Receiver: Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers lived up to his reputation of the best wide receiver in the NFL today. He had 11 receptions for 182 yards. He earned 29.2 fantasy points.
Tight End: Jesse James of the Pittsburgh Steelers had a great game today. He caught 6 balls for 41 yards and got into the end zone 2 times. He earned 22.1 fantasy points.
Defense: The L.A. Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars tied for the best Fantasy Defense today. The Rams held the Colts to 9 points while the Jaguars held the Texans to 7 points. They both earned 29 fantasy points.
Kicker: Giorgio Tavecchio of the Oakland Raiders was an unlikely hero today, as he filled in for Sebastian Janikowski. He had an impressive 19 fantasy points.

As for football in general, the temp's have been down over the last 10 days on the northeast US and it's truly starting to feel like fall. Now with football 3 days a week(Yes, I know Thursday Night games are a joke and barely football) moving forward, I don't care what the calendar says, it's officially fall! Tarik's gonna be a beast. Might be the steal of the draft. You heard it here first, the Bears have the best running back duo in football. If Glennon can complete even half of his passes we'll be in good shape with the way the defense looked yesterday. BTW, I'm not sure if you guys do this, but if you need a guy to do Bears coverage, I would love to take that on. Doesn't really fit under my current 'homestead' niche, but maybe I could write articles and post them under @steemsports? Just a thought..
