Below is a synopsis of the teams who will be facing off against each other.

Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan and his Falcons this year are 1-1 and boy oh boy has Matt Ryan been on fire! Through the first 2 weeks, he is 53-73 in pass completions n(72% completion rate), he has thrown for over 730 yards, and has a whacking 5 touchdowns with only 1 interception! Ryan also leads the NFL in yards per pass attempt (10.0) and passer rating (121.4)

On the receiving end, the future hall-of-famer, Julio Jones has had a decent year thus far, while receiving 2 of Matt Ryan’s touchdown passes and also having 4 x 20+ receptions from Ryan. Jacob Tamme also has 1 touchdown on his record with 126 receiving yards.

The running game for the Falcons has been somewhat depressing this year considering what we saw last year from the running game. Devonta Freeman, the rising star, hasn’t got off to a great start, he has scored 0 touchdowns and doesn’t even have a single 20+ rush. But hey, this might be his week to break out of this slump!

The Falcons are ranked 17th in receiving defense; allowing 7 touchdowns and 580 yards through 2 weeks. On the rushing defense, they are ranked 25th, allowing 1 touchdown and 245 rushing yards.

Lastly, on the special teams side, Matt Bryant, the kicker has been outstanding, going 5 for 5 in field goals made and has not shanked an extra point yet.

In conclusion, the Falcons should be putting up a great number of points from rushing to recieving to kicking. Their defense will probably not perform so well against a very strong Saints offense and the game should be very high scoring.

Atlanta Falcons Injury Report

New Orleans Saints

"Old Man" Drew Brees and the Saints are 0-2 this year, but their record doesn’t reflect their work put on the field.

On an ESPN voting poll, currently the Saints have 70% of the votes, while the Falcons have 30%. With that being said, let’s waste any time and get right into the Saints synopsis.

Drew Brees stats this year are almost as good as Ryan’s but not quite. Brees has recorded 5 touchdowns with 686 passing yards and through week 2 has a 66% pass completion rate. Brees doesn’t have much time left in the NFL as he is getting old at 37 years old. Let’s hope he has a great year this year and doesn’t get hurt to pass up the greats, Brett Farve and Peyton Manning in the most passing yards in NFL history!

Willie Snead, "The Sleeper", has been off to an incredible start to the season, having 226 receiving yards, 2 long balls, and 3 20+ receptions.

Another receiver, Brandin Cooks, is almost off to as great of a start as Wille Snead, falling 15 yards short of his receiving yards, having two deep balls and 1 20+ reception. Look for Drew Brees to find these two guys the most on Monday.

Like the Falcons, the Saints rushing game hasn’t been off to a great start this year… The Saints have 0 rushing touchdowns and with 6 guys combined a total of 129 rushing yards. But, like I said earlier, who knows… The rushing game might be a huge factor to a win.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Saints are ranked 22 in rushing defense while allowing 231 yards and 3 touchdowns. There passing defense isn’t the best either, being ranked 28th in the league out of 32 teams allowing a whooping 687 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

Wil Lutz and the special teams haven’t been very impressive this year. Wil has made 4 field goals on 7 attempts which is not good whatsoever in the NFL. On a good note, he has kicked a 48 yard field goal so if the game comes down to a win being decided by a field goal, only God knows what will happen. Haha!

New Orleans Saints Injury Report

In conclusion, this game will be very close. Both teams have strengths and faults in similar places. Like I said before, it will most definitly be a high scoring game!
