Evander Kane, on Friday evening, was as untamable as they get on the ice as he posted four goals past a reckless goalie in Mike Smith. San Jose has been on a hot streak recently, notching their third consecutive and fourth in their most recent five played. San Jose netted a total of seven goals in comparison to Calgary's four. Moreover, not only did Kane score his first career hat trick of his career, he scored an extra goal just to set it over the top. Evander has only been a member of the Sharks for eight games, and Kane has made use of his time exponentially seizing 10 points already.

Additionally, Kane netted the first goal at the six minute mark in the first period as his wrister made its way past Smith. Troy Brouwer and Mark Jankoski, Calgary's rookie center who has had an above average rookie season notched two unanswered goals shortly before Kane would tie the game up at two, as he managed to score his 23rd of the year. Johnny Gaudreua, the Flames All-Star left-winger extended his point streak to seven as the Flames retook the lead, 3-2.
San Jose then proceeded to score four unanswered, Evander acquired two of the four, Kevin Labanc scored his second goal in the past three and heightened his 18th career goal in his short two year stint with the San Jose Sharks. Thomas Hertl sneaked one past Smith dishing Braun his 26th and Vlasic his 20th assists of the season. Ferland managed to cut the Flames deficit to two, before they made an early call to pull Smith from the pipes and Fehr scored an empty-netter at the 16 minute mark to diminish the Flames chances of winning.

San Jose's playoff contending aspirations are rising as the seasons comes to a bitter end for many teams. Calgary has nine games remaining, and they are trailing the second place Wild Card position, currently held by Dallas, by four points. This year, the Pacific division is the toughest and most competitive division in the entire hockey league. San Jose will take on the Nucks' tonight in what poses to be an easy victory as they are -190 projected victors. Calgary's next game will be in Vegas as they take on the best expansion franchise in the history of sports as they desperately seek an answer.
