Game Review

Juventus and Fiorentina faced off on the fifth matchday of the season. The Bianconeri wanted to keep the winning pace of Milan, Inter, and Napoli, while for Fiorentina this was the most important match of the season.

Allegri changed the whole lineup from the previous match, except Dybala, Higuain, and Mandzukic. Juventus manager did this because his team will play every 3 days from this game until the international break. Fiorentina, on the other hand, presented their traditional lineup with best players on the pitch.

At the beginning of the first half, we saw a very calm Juventus team which easily took the initiative. Juventus maintained the possession of the ball and constantly threatened Fiorentina's goalie, including a chance when in the first minutes of the game Dybala managed to make a great pass to Higuain. Sadly to Juventus' fans, Higuain failed to deliver.

Despite having been dominated since the beginning of the match, Fiorentina managed to increase their possession on the ball near the 18th minute. And yet, it was Juventus that created the best chances. At the 19th minute, Sturaro performed an excellent pass for Mandzukic who gave the ball to Higuain, but sadly Gonzalo was in an offside position.

The best chance that the visiting team had was in the 36th minute when Simeone made a pass to Chiesa at the goalkeeper's area. Sadly, the midfielder couldn't control the ball and lost it. Minutes later, Higuain was in a great position to score after receiving a pass from Betancur, but the Argentinean failed again.

At the beginning of the second half, Juventus came in strong, and Mandzukic managed to break the tie at the 51st minute, when he scored a goal after Cuadrado's precise pass.

Shortly after, Florentina tried to equalize the score but Simeone hit the ball over the Szczesny's arch.

At the 65th minute, Matuidi received a foul at the edge of the area while dueling with Badelj. At first sight, it seemed that the foul was made inside the goalkeeper's area, but after the VAR review, it was determined that Juventus would only get a free kick. Also, the referee gave Badelj his second yellow card and sent him off

With only 10 players left for Fiorentina, Juventus continued dominating the match. Mandzukic and Cuadrado had several opportunities to score, but they could not materialize. Fiorentina really tried to equalize, but all the efforts were demolished by Juventus' defensive brick wall.

The game ended with the 1-0 score, and even though the game was extremely difficult, Juventus left the stadium happy with 3 extra points.

Análisis del Encuentro

Juventus y Fiorentina se encuentran en la quinta jornada para el mejor encuentro de la fecha, los bianconeri desean seguir ganando para no perder el pulso con Milan, Inter y Napole, mientras que para Florentina este es el encuentro más importante de la temporada.

En cuanto a las alineaciones de ambos equipos pudimos notar que Allegri roto prácticamente toda la plantilla menos Dybala, Higuain y Mandzukic en la delantera, mientras que los dirigidos por Pioli presentaron la misma formación inicial del encuentro previo.

Esto es debido a que Juventus desde este encuentro jugara cada 3 días hasta el parón de selecciones nacionales, mientras que para Fiorentina este es el encuentro más importante de la primera rueda del campeonato.

Al comienzo del primer tiempo vimos a una Juventus muy calmada que tomo la iniciativa manteniendo la posesión del balón buscando la ocasión perfecta para adelantarse en el marcador, y es que en el comienzo Dybala logro realizar un gran pase entre líneas a Higuain, pero su compatriota no fue capaz de convertir la ocasión en un gol.

A pesar de haber sido dominados desde el comienzo del encuentro, el equipo viola logro aumentar su posesión sobre el balón cercano al minuto 20, y aun así Juventus seguía teniendo las mejores ocasiones de gol, en el minuto 19 una ocasión creada por sturaro quien realizo un excelente pase para Mandzukic quien a su vez le dio el Balon a Higuain pero el mismo se encontraba fuera de lugar.

La ocasión más clara de gol para el equipo de Pioli vino en el minuto 36 cuando Simeone le realizo un excelente pase a Chiesa para gol, pero el mismo fue deficiente y el volante no pudo anotar, minutos después nuevamente Higuain se encontraba en una gran posición para anotar luego de recibir un gran pase por parte de Betancur, pero falla de nuevo, esta situación fue recurrente durante todo el encuentro.

Al comienzo del segundo tiempo ambos equipos se disputaron la posesión del balón, pero fue Mandzukic quien logro romper el empate en el minuto 51. Cuadrado realizo un gran pase al corazón del área desde el carril derecho, el cual fue pescado por Mandzukic quien cabeceo el balón para vencer al portero rival.

Poco después Florentina trato de igualar el marcador, Simeone realizo un fuerte remate el cual salió con poca dirección y paso por encima del arco rival.

En el minuto 65 ocurrió una situación que condiciono el resto del juego, Matuidi recibió una falta al borde del área por parte de Badelj, a primera vista pareció que fue penal, pero posterior a la revisión con el VAR se determino que se cobraría un tiro libre, pero el referee decidió otorgar la segunda amarilla al jugador de la Florentina, por lo cual fue expulsado.

Luego de esta situación Juventus siguió dominando el encuentro, Mandzukic y Cuadrado tuvieron varias oportunidades para aumentar la ventaja pero no pudieron concretarlas, no fue sino hasta el minuto 80 que Florentina ataco incesantemente el área de rival pero Barzagli y Rugani realizaron una labor impecable en conjunto con Szczesny para mantener el arco en cero.

De esta forma el encuentro se termino con un marcador 1-0, el cual refleja un encuentro que fue muy difícil para ambos equipos pero que le permite a la Juventus llegar con buen pie al Derby citadino contra Torino.
