Week 1 of the NFL is in the books. And like every year, there were some devastating injuries that will affect every team in the league. These will also put fantasy football owners in panic mode and test the depth of their rosters. Let's take a look at the biggest 10 injuries that occurred in the first weekend of the football season.
David Johnson - Arizona Cardinals Running Back:
Johnson was the #1 running back and the #1 overall pick on tons of fantasy football owners charts. In a nightmare scenario for the Arizona Cardinals, Johnson dislocated his wrist and will be out for about 12 weeks. He was hoping to get 30 touches per game and be an MVP candidate.
Danny Woodhead - Baltimore Ravens Running Back:
Woodhead suffered a hamstring injury and will be out indefinitely. He has had a sore hamstring bothering him all preseason and it kept him out of the last 2 preseason games. This is an injury that can linger and the Ravens will need to make sure this gets 100% healed before taking the field.
Kevin White - Chicago Bears Wide Receiver:
White broke his collarbone in what has turned into an injury plagued 3 year NFL career. He missed the entire rookie season with a leg injury and only played sparingly last year. The Bears had high hopes for him to be the #1 target this year after losing Alshon Jeffery to the Eagles. He may be out for the season.
Allen Robinson - Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver:
Robinson tore his ACL on the 3rd play of the season. This will require surgery and he will miss the entire season. This is terrible news for the Jaguars and quarterback Blake Bortles who had Robinson in the #1 slot.

Eric Berry - Kansas City Chiefs Safety:
Berry has torn his ACL and will be out for the rest of the season. This injury is the most gut wrenching of all that suffered in the opening week. But not due to pain or gruesomeness, but because of what Eric Berry has battled through over the last few years. He has successfully fought off cancer and was ready to finally be back in the NFL. Unfortunately for Berry, the Chiefs, and their fan base, they will have to wait another year to see him playing on the home field.
Danny Amendola - New England Patriots Wide Receiver:
Amendola was the first NFL player of the 2017 season to get a concussion. As with every concussion, the timetable to his return is unclear. With Edelman already out for the season, the Patriots hope that Amendola will only miss one week.
Brian Cushing - Houston Texans Linebacker:
Cushing also got a concussion this past weekend. He is going through the concussion protocol and like Amendola of the Patriots, there is no timetable on his return.
Orlando Scandrick - Dallas Cowboys Defensive Back:
Scandrick broke his left hand on Sunday night against the Giants. Though the injury is a serious one, the Cowboys are hoping he can get back in week 3. He would have to wear a protective glove and tackling would be an issue. He is definitely ruled out for this week.
Reuben Foster - San Francisco 49ers Linebacker:
Foster went down with what appeared to be a bad leg injury on Sunday against the Panthers. There was fear that he would be lost for a significant amount of time. But after the swelling went down and the pain lessened, his injury was confirmed as a high ankle sprain. He should be back sooner than later.
Kasey Redfern - Detroit Lions Punter:
Redfern’s season is over and possibly his career. He tore his ACL and MCL in his punting leg. He sustained these injuries trying to make a tackle on a botched punt play. A word to the wise would be to just punt the ball and get out of the way.

The NFL is America’s most brutal major sport. Injuries will be frequent and will affect every team throughout the season. Every Tuesday we will keep you updated with the latest injury reports from the previous week. Whose injury affected your fantasy team the most?

great post!!

Johnson's injury is definitely going to hurt one of my teams. Hoping to pick up Kerwynn Williams (Johnson's backup) off the waiver wire. Even with Williams, there is no guarantee he will get near the work load. Fingers crossed

Check out the Bears RB Cohen. Try and pick him up on the waiver wire

Actually I have him lined up too in case the first doesn't go through. Haha

This does not look good for the Cardinal's. Palmer looked sloppy enough without them losing their all-star back. Looks like a bulk of the work will fall to Williams and Ellington.

good article
please check my post about sport

Kasey Redfern will be missed!
