All eyes will be on Cleveland point guard Isaiah Thomas, on Wednesday, as two of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference at the TD Garden in Boston as the Celtics (30-10) hope to keep their top spot in the conference as they play host to the defending conference champion Cleveland Cavaliers (18-7) who occupy the third best record in the conference, behind the aforementioned Celtics and Toronto Raptors (24-12).
The 5’9” Thomas was involved in the off season’s biggest trade which sent him along with a host of young talent to Cleveland for the Cavs all-star point guard, Kyrie Irvin. Thomas has yet to play a game this season, missing the first 36 games of the season due to a nagging hip injury but Cleveland hopes that he can match his last year’s scoring numbers (28.9 PPG), which ranked third in the NBA, starting Wednesday night.

After dropping all three of their contests on their road trip out West, the Cavs return home tonight to face the Portland Trailblazers before hitting the road, once again, to Boston. So far this season, Cleveland has been led by former MVP Lebron James who continues his solid play, averaging nearly a triple-double per contest with his staggering offensive numbers of 27.8 PPG on 56% field goal percentage, 9.2 APG, and 8.2 RPG to go along with his defensive metrics average of 1.6 SPG and 1 BPG. Kevin Love also looks to aid James and Thomas bringing his 20.2 PPG and 10.2 RPG averages to the court.

The Celtics, sporting a three game win streak, countering with their offseason acquisition Kyrie Irvin who leads the team in scoring with 24.8 PPG. Jaylen Brown and the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, Jayson Tatum who bring to the court 14.4 PPG and 14.1 PPG, respectively.

Do you know something I don't? I thought Thomas was out for the Celtics game?

He is out! a pitty would have been great to see him play there

Yeah, he's out as far as I know. Too bad! Would have been fun to have him in the game.

You all are correct. Thomas is out tonight versus his former team due to a planned day of rest on the second day of a back to back set. I apologize for the miscommunication.

While IT is out, I believe that he will be coming back to play and be welcomed home by Boston the same day that Paul Pierce's jersey gets retired. That will be quite the show!

Yes me too !
