Arsenal legend Thierry Henry applauded Kylian Mbappe when asked by one of the journalists some time ago. Henry did not hesitate and immediately replied "I said he was good, I really like watching him play," Henry said as quoted by Squawka.
However it's difficult for us not to compare the two. Mbappe and Henry both defended Monaco and led them to become Ligue 1 champions.
But there is another name Anthony Martial who moved from Monaco to Manchester United in 2015. He is also touted as the incarnation of Thierry Henry.
Let's look at the comparison at the age of 18, the age that became the benchmark because Kylian Mbappe became the youngest and currently there at that age.
Who should better be called "The Next" Thierry Henry?
Anthony Martial
At the age of 18, Anthony Martial played for AS Monaco in the 2013-2014 season. He scored two goals from 19 matches, or a goal ratio of 0.12 per game.
Later, next season Martial was 19 years old and just increased his sharpness with 12 goals for AS Monaco before being transferred by Man United in 2015.
Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe has scored 26 goals in 44 games, or if averaged, he has scored 0.89 goals per game. He also did 11 assists, which meant he was involved in a goal every 71.2 minutes.
Mbappe won European trophy at junior level, at U-19 to be exact. In addition, Mbappe also helps Monaco to win Ligue 1 in 2016-2017.
Thierry Henry:A Class Apart Legend!
While playing for AS Monaco in the 1996-1997 season, Henry was 18 years old.
In 48 matches, he scored 10 goals which means 0.21 goals per game, far from the Mbappe goal scoring.
At this age, Henry also won the Ligue 1 trophy. So, Kylian Mbappe far left Henry for scoring affair at the age of 18. But we have not seen Mbappe's consistency and have to wait for the next seasons while playing for PSG.
While Martial, also seems better than Henry at the age of 18 years.His 12 goals in Monaco in the 2014-2015 season and 8 goals at Man United in 2016-2017 makes him a talent to keep an eye for. This season, Martial looks more promising than before and ready to take larger game changing roles in the team!

Both are great players! The price payed for Mbappe seems a bit overrated for a player with 18 years old, about Martial he's getting better match after match it could be happening because of Man Utd have more players speaking french than the last season. Another point that we have to consider here is the fact that the Premier League is one if not the most competitive Leagues in Europe, we actually can't say that Mbappe is a super star, he's young and need to prove his talent in other country for beeing a star in my opinion.

Henry played as a left winger at Monaco though, assume they played 4-4-2 then aswell, wingers didn't really score so much back then.
