According to reports, Cleveland Cavaliers shooter guard wants to be traded out of Cleveland. The report was stated by Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. Smith is playing in a very limited time for the Cavs this season with only 12 minutes per game only. He also didn't play in some of their games because he was not in the team's rotation.
Smith is now averaging just 2.5 points per game. He is in his 14th season and still playing decent basketball but the Cavs decision to limit his minutes or even not let him play is because of the development of their younger guys.

The Cavs will surely tank this season because they cannot be in relevance again without LeBron James. This is the best they can do to also get a chance to draft Zion Williamson who is said to be the next big thing in the NBA or we can say, the next LeBron James.
Smith already told the front office of his intention to be traded. While it is not officially announced, the news is already spreading throughout the league. I understand why he wanted to be traded, and i think he should be. Smith is a kind of player who wants competition and with the Cavs tanking this season, it's all non-sense for him to still play there.

Remember that last season he just played in the NBA finals and still contributing big numbers and his role alongside LeBron is very important for the team. That is just 5 months ago. It's very hard for him to adjust and not get enough playing time. And at this point in his career, he should be playing for a contender to help them win championships.
