It is going to be a great Saturday night the NBA. We have 12 games which means 24 teams will be in action on the Eve of the Super Bowl. There are some dynamite match-ups with plenty on the line. We have just 30 games left in the regular season so the playoff races are heating up.
One game though has really got me excited. The World Champion Golden State Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers. This will be just the second time these teams have faced this season with the Lakers winning the previous game on Christmas Eve.
But a lot has changed since these two teams were on the court while Santa Claus was finally resting. The Golden State Warriors got off to a very rocky start and were struggling to piece many wins together. There was a very public and big fight between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant that put the team in a tail spin.
Steph Curry missed several games to injury and for the first time in a few years, the Warriors looked vulnerable. Enter Boogie Cousins 2 weeks ago. The big man came back from his injury and the Warriors ripped off 11 wins in a row, until they lost Thursday night to the 76ers.
The Lakers also went through a rough patch when Lebron James missed over a month of action due to a groin strain. But Lebron came back this week and this will be his second game. The Lakers find themselves on the outside of the playoffs and need to go on a big run over these last couple months.
Tonight's game will take place at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California. It will get started at 7:30pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on ABC. The Warriors are favored by 11.5 points and it should be a very high scoring affair.
There will be plenty of eyes on this game and it will be a lot of fun to see how Lebron and company play on the road against the surging Warriors. Enjoy all the action, I know I will.
