What a fantastic year so far in college football. There have been massive upsets every week and the college football playoff is wide open. With all of the nonsense that has been going on in the NFL this year, football fans have turned the tv off on Sundays and looked to get their fix at the collegiate level where they don't have to worry about politics being intertwined with their favorite sport.

The game of the year in college football is in a few hours. The undefeated and #2 Penn State Nittany Lions are facing their toughest test today as they play at the #6 Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes only blemish on the year was a week 2 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. Since then, they have been putting a beat down on all of their opponents and have scored over 50 points in 4 straight games.

J.T. Barrett has played great at the quarterback position for the Buckeyes this year. He has looked like a man among boys so far and is putting up gaudy stats. Barrett has thrown 21 touchdowns and only 1 interception. He has also ran for 5 touchdowns. He has gotten plenty of help from their running game. J.K. Dobbins is rushing for 110 yards a game and that has opened up the passing game for Barrett. But today won't be easy against a strong Penn State defense.

The Nittany Lions have their best team in decades. They are perfect on the season and answered a tough test last week when they played the Michigan Wolverines. The Nittany Lions blew them out 42-13 and look poised for today's challenge. With only 1 ranked team left on the schedule, next week at Michigan State, today’s game has huge National Championship implications.

Trace McSorley is having a fantastic junior season for the Nittany Lions. He has thrown for 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He has also used his feet to get into the endzone 7 times. But the Penn State offense has been so successful because of Saquon Barkley. The talented running back is the best in the country. He has explosive speed and can break a big play open at any moment. Barley is averaging 108 yards per game and has 8 rushing touchdowns along with 3 touchdown receptions. He will get the ball early and often today as they try and establish the running game as the Ohio State crowd will be loud and intimidating.

If Penn State wins today, they will likely finish the regular season undefeated and will be playing in the Big Ten Championship Game with a chance to make the college football playoff. If Ohio State wins, they will still have an incredibly dangerous test left when they play at Michigan on the final Saturday of the season.
