The Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed their marquee new addition Manny Machado to the club with a 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday evening. Rich Hill was called to the mound for the visiting Dodgers while Wade Miley nabbed the start for the Brewers.
Neither team was able to get on the board for the first two innings, but LA broke the scoreboard silence with some timely hitting in the third. Chris Taylor blasted a double to deep left center and Manny Machado followed up with a walk off of four straight balls. Max Muncy was due up, and he had the pleasure of being hit by a 91 MPH two-seam fastball. Chris Taylor then scored on a passed ball by Brewers catcher Piña. Our score was at 1-0 Dodgers.
The Brewers had their moment in the bottom of the fifth inning. Manny Piña got on base with a leadoff single to left, and center-fielder Keon Broxton gained base too with a walk. Pitcher Wade Miley managed to knock a single to left-center, but it got Broxton out at second. Christian Yelich stepped up and doubled to right field which sent Piña home for the first Brewer score of the game, all tied up at 1-1.

The Dodgers responded soon after with an action-packed seventh inning. Chase Utley doubled to deep left center and leadoff man Chris Taylor knocked him home to put the Dodgers up 2-1 on the home team. Then after Manny Machado moved things along by getting on base, Max Muncy smacked a double into the right-center gap to bring home Chris Taylor, 3-1 Dodgers. The Dodgers had the bases loaded with only one out and a chance to do some serious damage, but their next two batters popped up to end the inning. The Dodgers walked away with the lead heading into the final two innings.
Milwaukee had trouble getting anything going, but their power hitter Jesus Aguilar went yard for a left field solo homer to make it 2-3, Dodgers still up. The rally didn't last long though, as Kike Hernandez responded with a ninth-inning three-run blast for the Boys in Blue to instill a comfortable last-second lead, 6-2 Dodgers. The Brewers tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the ninth to give the Dodgers a scare, but LA's relievers prevailed to go home with a 6-4 win in Manny Machado's first game in a Dodger uniform.

Machado opened up his Dodgers tenure with a slapped single to right field, right between the first and second basemen. He got another hit for his second at bat, and he reached base on four of his five plate appearances. No grand home runs for the Dodgers new addition, but he did his job in contributing to the win for his new ballclub.

Machado starting off nicely!

Yea! six hits in the series and some great fielding so far.

I was really hoping my Brewers would land Machado but its all good I still think they add another player or two after grabbing Soria yesterday - Dodgers are coming on strong - the West has an interesting race going on but gotta think LA is going to pull away throughout the second half
