It was a great night for the Boston Celtics last night. They hosted the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors in a fantastic game. The game went down to the wire but in the end, the Celtics got the 92-88 home win. They have not been defeated since their 0-2 start to the season and now have the best record in the NBA.

Kyrie Irving was not considered a good defensive player when he was a member of the Cleveland Cavs. But when he joined the Celtics, he embraced head coach Brad Stevens defensive philosophy. Now Irving is part of the number 1 defense in the league.
Last night the Celtics held the high flying and 3 point shooting stars from the Warriors in check. Kevin Durant had 24 points but Klay Thompson had 13 and Steph Curry only had 9. As a team, the Warriors only shot 40% from the field and made 10 of 32 from the 3 point line.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Celtics had a balanced effort. All 5 starters were in double figures with Jaylen Brown leading the way with 22 points. Kyrie Irving was held to 16 points and 6 assists but his teammates stepped up to the challenge. The game plan for the Warriors was to focus on shutting Irving down and they had almost everyone guard him by the end of the game. Al Horford’s 18 points and 11 rebounds were a huge factor in the win.
Both teams are traveling today and have the night off. The Celtics will be back in action on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks. The Warriors will play a young but talented 76er team on Saturday as well.

let's what they gonna do at the oracle ;)

It's amazing what a great coach can do for a team. Stevens should be an early candidate for COY. I'd love to see a 7 game series between these two teams and fingers crossed that we will.

I am astonished how quickly the Celtics are doing right now. After the first two games up to now I think Ainge is feeling like he is on cloud 9. If Hayward was healthy this likely would have been a solid eastern conference championship team. Not to say without him they are not but man its like the red sox 2013 miracle run. Miracle because expectations were not set for winning it all as much as other times due to be turnover but it happen. John Farrell's first year and I remember a ton of players on the roster that were different than years past. And then boom world series champs. Hope the Celtics go all the way.
