The Sports World is exploding today as the FBI has announced that they have found corruption and bribery at the HIGHEST LEVELS of NCAA College Basketball. There are big time coaches and programs involved, including one of the best coaches ever.

Rick Pitino, future Hall of Fame Coach, and 2 time NCAA National Champion, is on unpaid leave from his job as the Head Coach of the University of Louisville. The story is continuing to break and Pitino is accused of funneling $100,000 through an intermediary at shoe giant, Adidas, to a basketball recruit. Pitino is the highest paid coach in the country and the 65 year old’s coaching days are likely over.
But this is WAY bigger than just Louisville and Rick Pitino. Several assistant coaches from across the country were indicted by federal authorities. Some of the schools involved are Oklahoma State, Arizona, USC, Miami, South Carolina and Auburn. Here is a list of some of the charges: Wire Fraud, Money Laundering Conspiracy, Conspiracy to Commit Bribery, Solicitation of Bribes, Travel Act Conspiracy.

Let's be honest here about College Basketball and College Football. Everyone know these bribes and payments go on and have been for decades. Just like we all know that 99.9% of the NFL is on Performance Enhancing Drugs like Steroids or Human Growth Hormone, we all know kids are paid to make their decision of what college to play for.
But this is the first time that the FBI has gotten this far into proving this. And it's only the tip of the iceberg. In the immediate future, every major program that has a deal with Adidas should be shaking in their sneakers. The FBI has flipped informants and there will be many more coaches and schools involved. Then the next pair of shoes will fall with Nike and Under Armour schools.

Here are the 6 biggest collegiate apparel deals in the country:
UCLA - Under Armour - $280 Million - 15 Years
Ohio State - Nike - $252 Million - 15 Years
Texas - Nike - $250 Million - 15 Years
Kansas - Adidas - $191 Million - 14 Years
Michigan - Nike - $173.8 Million - 15 Years
Louisville - Adidas - $160 Million - 10 Years
With that kind of money involved, there is sure to be plenty of people with their hands in the cookie jar. I predict that this story will be the biggest story that the NCAA will ever have to face.
What do you think of all this? Are you surprised? Thank you for following @steemsports and you can find me @hogan22

They have finally been able to prove what we have known all along; that highly recruited college basketball prospects are being paid to go to certain schools. I'm just surprised it took this long to prove.

Well put, thanks for reading @steemsports

I have known this since I watched Blue Chips

Methinks this is just the tip of the iceberg!

I bet there is more paper shredding going on right now in college sports administration offices than Hillary Clinton's staffers on election night.

Nice great one.

This is just one more example of, there’s nothing new under the sun.

Only the names and faces change.

Peace.
