On Monday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers tied the series 2 games apiece in a 111-102 win over the Boston Celtics. LeBron James had been magnificent as usual. He finished the game with 44 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (2,356) for most field goals in playoffs history and recorded his 25th career playoffs game with at least 40 points. It was his sixth this postseason. LeBron also recorded his 106th 30-point game in the postseason and the only player who has more is Michael Jordan with 109. With the wild crowd in Quicken Loans Arena, the Cleveland Cavaliers spoiled Boston’s fourth quarter comeback and tied the series before heading to Boston in game 5.

Just like in Game 3, the Cavaliers started really well which gave them a huge lead in the first half. Four Cleveland players scored in double figures. Tristan Thompson made an impact on defense and in rebounding. He recorded a double-double of 13 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots. JR Smith knocked down three 3-pointers finishing with a total of 9 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists while Kevin Love had 9 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Love highlighted one of his signature “touch down” pass which was caught by LeBron and lays it up and in. George Hill shot 66 percent from the field finishing the game with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Larry Nance Jr. is now learning what it takes to play in the post season. Larry was improving since the Indiana series. He scored 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Kyle Korver was praised by LeBron James during the postgame interview for his work ethic and his heart for the game. He played great defense against one of the most athletic and young guards in the league, Jaylen Brown. Kyle blocks 2 shots of Brown and provided some terrific hustle plays. Korver finished the game with a total of 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks. He made two three-pointers. If Cleveland wins the series, they will be the 20th team out of 300 to overcome a 2-0 series deficit.

The Boston Celtics had another slow start just like in game 3. They had a lot of open looks but the Celtics shot just 27 percent in the first quarter. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown missed dunks. Marcus Morris also picked up three early fouls as the Cavaliers pushed their lead to 15 at the half. The Celtics couldn’t hold down LeBron as he continued to attack the mismatch. The Celtics switch their defense caused by the mismatch problems as Terry Rozier always ended up guarding LeBron James. In the fourth quarter, the Celtics tried to make a comeback as they trimmed the lead 100-93 on Marcus Smart’s basket but LeBron and the Cavs recovered and a dagger three-pointer by LeBron James put the game out of reach.
