Juventus lost their 100 percent winning ratio in Seria A after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Atalanta on Sunday night. Juventus went close in the 14th minute when Mandzukic set Higuain up, but the Argentine was unable to beat the Atalanta keeper. The defending champions finally scored in the 21st minutes with a goal from Federico Bernardeschi who was making his first start for Juventus. Gonzalo Higuain added a 2nd 3 minutes later after a Bernardeschi assist. However, Atalanta did not give up, and Mattia Caldera pulled one back for the hosts.
The Turin giants scored the 3rd goal through Mario Mandzukic, but it was disallowed because of a foul by Stephan Lichsteiner after the referee consulted the video replay. Lichsteiner also got a yellow card. Bryan Cristante leveled things up in the 64th minute of the game.

Atalanta had the chance to win the game in the 80th minute, but Petagna was too slow to react a Spinazzola’s low cross into the Juve's area.
The video replay was later used to award a penalty to Juventus in the 84th minute after the ball appeared to have struck Atalanta’s Andrea Petagna. However, Paulo Dybala’s penalty was saved by keeper Etrit Berisha, and Atalanta managed to grab a point against all odds.
