Rooney will become a Derby player and coach in January.
Derby County announced in an official announcement that Wayne Rooney will be the first team playing coach. He will join the new club in January 2020.
Former England representative with a team from Pride Park signed a one and a half year contract with the option of extending it for another year. The contract will apply from January 2020.
Rooney will have two functions at the same time. Both the coach and the active player. An experienced striker is currently a DC United player and is appearing in Major League Soccer, where he will remain until the end of the 2019 season.
