I think eight would be amazing, a definite improvement. I would actually rather see the top say 60 teams play in a ten "Bowl Cup Series" with the top six (two byes for highest rated teams+2 play in games to play those teams) and get rid of this bowl system. At most 20 teams overall would play three postseason games, and if you had the "Bowl Cup" sites like the NCAA tournament you could do this from mid-late december through mid January. You would actually be a few weeks in front of signing day making these games even more important as you could really finish the season on a real high gaining a lot of momentum.
