UFC 205's main event offers a true superfight for the ages, the featherweight champion vs the lightweight champion. Rarely do we get such a fight, and rarely are the champions so skillful and in their prime.

"The Notorious" Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor needs no introduction, the 'Notorious' one's reputation proceeds him ten fold. He is the sneakiest of southpaws and an enigma in his own right; he is both a pressure fighter and masterful counter puncher who finds a way to aggressively push forward all while countering perfectly with footwork and the facade of spin kicks.

As a more than capable boxer, Conor is one of the best MMA has to offer, his fight against Holloway was a tour de force of head movement, foot placement, counter-intuitive striking with a well round grappling game. His take-down defense improves every fight and the power in his left hand is godly, this is his chance to make history, and it will take a true savage to take that from him.

Eddie "The Underground King" Alvarez

Eddie Alvarez is the lineal lightweight champion, the former Bellator lightweight champion, and the current UFC lightweight champion of the world. He is the epitome of pressure fighter and as gritty as they come. He is not timid in the pocket, and he will not back down from a firefight even when badly hurt. Eddie has evolved as a fighter and made a very good choice switching to Mark Henry's camp. He has an excellent jab and great counter right hook, he can land crisp shots effectively although he does swing a bit wide in flurries. Eddie has advantages in grappling, and his best bet would be to fight smart against such an unpredictable and wild fighter as McGregor.

The Matchup

The match-up itself is a true marvel! Heart and will are no question here, there will be no quit in either man. This fight will end with consciousness being seized, there will be no taps or scorecards. Both men throw with heavy power and constant aggression. Conor carries the essence of Irish spirit and pugilism, he is a black belt at throwing hands. His left hand is truly devastating, and it is the opponent's job to avoid that shot at all costs.

Eddie has become more of a grappler in his UFC tenure, but he truly is a kick boxer at heart and rarely used his grappling aside from submissions to finish a hurt opponent. The heart of Eddie is never in question, but his ability to take a shot somewhat is. The first fight against Chandler was a true War, and he left with a badly broken jaw due to many unanswered shots in that fight. Alvarez has a bad habit of getting sloppy when he hurts an opponent, Patricky, 'Pitbull' almost put him away with a light counter off a messy flurry from Eddie.

Conor is by far the cleanest and most precise striker Eddie has faced, Pettis is an arguable claim, but the Eddie fought a lesser version of the once powerful champion. This is a tough fight to call as both men have momentum on their side, and power in their hands. Just know this one ends with a KO....

How to Play

• Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

• Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

• After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

• The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

• 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

• 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

• Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

• Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

• Vote Percentage Requirements : Players with less than 100 000 Steem Power (SP) are required to vote main post with at least 50% and players with more than 100 000 SP are required to vote main with at least 10%.

• Comments may then be voted with any percentage, but we do encourage all players to vote main and comment with as much power as possible to help distribute SP and create employment for writers and editors.

• Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

• In the event of a draw/tie and such vote option was omitted by @steemsports for any reason, the game will result in all players being paid out regardless of which draw/tied outcome voted.
