Dallas Stars

So Far This Season

The Dallas Stars did quite well last year despite a disappointing playoff run being beaten out in the second round by St. Louis. They have acquired some solid talent from teams who just didn't want, had issues with, or the player and the team were ready to go their separate ways, type of teams. First round second pick overall Tyler Seguin, and former Ottawa star Jason Spezza are among them. Coming off of a 5-4 loss in overtime to the LA Kings, and a brutal defeat 3-0 in their last game against the Columbus Blue Jackets I'm sure Dallas is hungry for a win. Will it be against Minnesota?

Their 2015-2016 record was 50-23-9 with 109 points. They finished 1st overall in their division and first overall in their conference.
Their record this 2016-2017 season is 2-2-1 putting them in 5th in the Central Division.

Patrick Sharp and Jiri Hudler have been placed on Injured Reserve. Ales Hemsky may make his debut in the Saturday night game it is unconfirmed, and Patrick Eaves won't be playing do to a lower body injury.

The Dallas Stars have picked up a few diamond picks that are turning out great for them, the leaders on the team in 20-15-2016 consisted of J.Benn (with 89 points last year), T.Seguin (with 73 points last year), and J.Spezza (with 63 points last year)

The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in Dallas, Texas. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was founded during the 1967 NHL expansion as the Minnesota North Stars, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. Before the beginning of the 1978–79 NHL season, the team merged with the Cleveland Barons after the league granted them permission due to each team's respective financial struggles. Ultimately, the franchise relocated to Dallas for the 1993–94 NHL season. The Stars played out of Reunion Arena from their relocation until 2001, when the team moved less than 1.5 miles into the American Airlines Center.

The Stars have won eight division titles in Dallas, two President's Trophies as the top regular season team in the NHL, the Western Conference championship twice, and in 1998–99, the Stanley Cup. (The Dallas Stars became the first NHL team based in a subtropical city, from the 35th parallel north to win a Stanley Cup.) Joe Nieuwendyk won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the playoffs that year.

Minnesota Wild

So Far This Season

The Minnesota Wild have struggled slightly when it comes to making the playoffs, they're not a terrible team, but they're not super effective either. They seem to finish in similar positions every year either barely making it into the playoffs, or just slightly missing out. That doesn't mean a lower finishing team can't get hot and win the cup though. Minnesota is coming off a two game losing streak, to New Jersey in overtime 2-1, and in their last game against the New York Islanders 6-3 so I'm sure they're just as hungry for a win as Dallas is.

Their 2015-2016 record was 38-33-11 with 87 points. They finished 5th in the Central Division.
This 2016-2017 season their record sits at 3-2-1 putting them in 2nd in their Central Division 3 spots ahead of the Dallas Stars.
The Minnesota Wild have a couple on the injured list who may not be in Saturday's lineup, and they are Jared Spurgeon and Erik Haula.

The Minnesota Wild have a few decent forwards in their arsenal, M.Koivu (with 56 points last year), Z,Parise (with 53 points last year), and M.Granlund (with 44 points last year) rounding out the top of that list.

The Minnesota Wild are a professional ice hockey team based in St. Paul, Minnesota, United States. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).[2] The Wild are the only one of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area's major professional sports league franchises to play in St. Paul; the other three play in Minneapolis.
The new team was founded on June 25, 1997, but started playing in the 2000-01 NHL season. The Wild were the first NHL franchise in Minnesota since the Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas in 1993. They lost their first game, 3–1, to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and recorded their first win against the Tampa Bay Lightning five games later.[3] The Wild play at the Xcel Energy Center.[4] In the 2002–03 season, the team made its first Stanley Cup playoff appearance, making a surprising run to the Western Conference Finals.[5] As of 2015, the Wild have averaged a .537 points percentage since entering the league.[6]

How to Play

  • Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

  • Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

  • After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

  • The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

  • 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

  • 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

  • Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

  • Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

  • Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

  • @steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.

  • Please vote responsibly :).

Thank you for the opportunity steemsports to participate in this great idea.

May one make a request as your steemsports is such a great idea and has attracted a broad spectrum of peoples including underagers and women...please ban from the contests reply boards the posting of pornographic material. If one wants to see their material...their sites are available...they should not use steemsports to hawk their blogs without paying the advert fee and one should not have to endure their barbarism in order to participate in this very great and family fun idea.

Ok we saw some nudity pics in newer posts and downvoted and issued warning, thanks for alerting us.

Thank you for your reply @steamsports. Apologies for the confusion. You are very kind.

Hi @bleujay thanks for your message, we do not want to get involved with censorship too much, because the we are no better than other social media platforms, the images seen so far are not pornography and are akin to what is found on television and magazines in modern day society, so there is nothing for us to censor, the players do find it a fun flare. If there was full on nudity we would definately downvote the content. Thanks for your concerns and I trust it will stay above board going forward.
