The MLB post season is coming to a close. The Indians are leading the Jays 2-0 going into Game 3. Game 4 is what we are voting on - no matter the outcome of Game 3, both teams are fighting for their playoff lives.

Tuesday October 18th on TBS at 4:00 PM EST

In an epic battle of the pitchers for the ALCS, the Cleveland Indians blanked the Toronto Jays beating them in both games by 1 run. Both teams have had excellent opportunities, but Cleveland has managed to keep Toronto’s bats quiet. Some as of late have been questioning called strikes in the series – but it is what it is – a difficult, close, entertaining series. Let’s hope it goes to seven games.

The Jays had a 2016 record of 89-73, they won the wild card game versus Baltimore and defeated the Texas Rangers to win the ALDS.

The Jays have one of the best batting lineups in the game and are hoping for an offensive explosion. Sanchez is expected to pitch.

So Far This Season

The Toronto Blue Jays are a Canadian professional baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Blue Jays compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East Division. The team plays its home games at the Rogers Center (formerly known as the SkyDome).

The "Blue Jays" name originates from the bird of the same name, and blue is also the traditional color of two of Toronto's other professional sports teams: the Maple Leafs (ice hockey) and the Argonauts (Canadian football). In addition, the team was originally owned by the Labatt Brewing Company, makers of the popular beer Labatt's Blue. Colloquially nicknamed the "Jays", the team's official colors are royal blue, navy blue, red, and white.[3] An expansion franchise, the club was founded in Toronto in 1977. Originally based at Exhibition Stadium, the team began playing its home games at the SkyDome upon its opening in 1989. Since 2000, the Blue Jays have been owned by Rogers Communications, and in 2004, the SkyDome was purchased by that company, which it renamed Rogers Center. They are the second MLB franchise to be based outside the United States, and currently, the only team based outside the U.S. after the first Canadian franchise, the Montreal Expos, relocated to Washington, D.C. after the 2004 season and became the Washington Nationals.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Blue Jays went through struggles typical of an expansion team, frequently finishing in last place in its division. In 1983, the team had its first winning season and two years later; they became division champions. From 1985–1993, they were an AL East powerhouse, winning five division championships in nine seasons, including three consecutive from 1991–93. During that run, the team also became back-to-back World Series champions in 1992 and 1993, led by a core group of award-winning All-Star players, including Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar, Joe Carter, John Olerud, and Devon White. The Blue Jays became the first (and, to date, only) team outside the US to appear in and win a World Series, and the fastest AL expansion team to do so, winning in its 16th year. After 1993, the Blue Jays failed to qualify for the playoffs for 21 consecutive seasons, until clinching a playoff berth and division championship in 2015. The team clinched a second consecutive playoff berth in 2016, after securing an AL wild card position. Both years, the Jays won the AL Division Series.

The Blue Jays are one of three MLB teams under corporate ownership, with the other two being the former Seattle Mariners (Nintendo of America) and the current Atlanta Braves (Liberty Media)..

Cleveland Indians

Cleveland is entering the raucous Rogers Center up 2 games. Game 3 results were not available at the time of this post, but the betting line is the same. Its Clevland’s to lose at this point – if they can keep the bats of the Blue Jays quiet – then they can possibly end it during the 3 game stint at the Rogers Center.

Their 2015-2016 record was 35-39-8 with 78 points. They finished 7th in the Central Division.

Cleveland has one of the best pitching staff's in the game, and they are going to try and handcuff the Blue Jays hitters like they have been doing. Clevinger is expected to pitch.

AL Central Standings - MLB

Cleveland Indians LineUp- ESPN

So Far This Season:

Cleveland won the Central division this year. They then swept the Boston Red Sox to make it to the ALCS. They Currently Lead the Series 2-0. Cleveland has its best assets in their bullpen - Toronto has one of the best hitting teams. It is an excellent matchup and Cleveland has a chance to continue their win streak.

The Cleveland Indians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Indians compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. Since 1994, they have played in Progressive Field (known as Jacobs Field from 1994 through 2007). The team's spring training facility is at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona.[1] Since their establishment as a Major League franchise in 1901, the Indians have won two World Series championships, in 1920 and 1948.

The name "Indians" originated from a request by club owner Charles Somers to baseball writers to choose a new name to replace "Cleveland Naps" following the departure of Nap Lajoie after the 1914 season. The name referenced the nickname "Indians" that was applied to the Cleveland Spiders baseball club during the time when Louis Sockalexis, a Native American, played in Cleveland.[2] Common nicknames for the Indians include the "Tribe" and the "Wahoos," the latter being a reference to their logo, Chief Wahoo, a controversial Native American caricature. The team's mascot is named "Slider."

The Cleveland Indians originated in Michigan in 1894 as the Grand Rapids Rustlers, a minor league team in the Western League. The team moved to Cleveland in 1900, changing its name to the Cleveland Lake Shores; the Western League itself changed its name to the American League (AL) while continuing its minor league status. One of the American League's eight charter franchises, the major league incarnation of the club was founded in Cleveland in 1901. Originally called the Cleveland Bluebirds, the team played in League Park until moving permanently to Cleveland Stadium in 1946. At the end of the 2016 season, they had a regular season franchise record of 9,190–8,835 (.510). The Indians have won eight AL Central titles, the most in the division.

How to Play

  • Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

  • Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

  • After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

  • The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

  • 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

  • 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

  • Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

  • Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

  • Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

Steem Sports is such an awesome idea. Even if you know nothing about a sport you can still vote. But with baseball there are so many games that we could vote on each game, AND we could vote on just the outcome of the series as well.

Game 3 is being played as I write this, and the way baseball works the outcome of tonight's game will affect how tomorrow is played.

Having said that, I think the Cleveland is on fire, but the Blue Jays will keep them from the sweep in Game 4.

I agree, Cleveland tonight, Toronto tomorrow... Then the Indians win it in five.
Like you, I'm going with the Jays in Game 4.

If they're going to win one, game 3 is the one to get.

The Blue Jays crowd should be hyped, which can make it more difficult to focus as an opposing pitcher.

Top that off with Toronto's Marcus Stroman (4.37 ERA) on the mound, who in two outings this season struck out 15 Indian batters over 14 combined innings while giving up only 2 runs, and the Cleveland lineup will have their hands full tonight.

I say, Blue Jays 6 - 2 Indians.

Not to mention, fuck Cleveland. So there's that to take into account as well :)

Lmao that's exactly what I was thinking, if they're gonna win one it'll be this game. Figured the votes would be way in favour of the Indians and I could get a good scoop up of an underdog. Then get here and the votes are in toronto's favour.... fuck it going Indians lol.

I went to college in Toronto gotta go with them

Toronto to win

let's do this

Go Blue Jays!

Blue Jays great game preview .

blue jays win!!!

Blue Jays 3 in a row

CLEVELAND-COMMENTS-thumb5ee13.jpg

Indians just to go against the tide

Blue Jays of course.

You sure, on the wrong side.
Put proxy at Indian. I hope it still counts

Thank you for your reply. It sounds rather like a draw.....was hoping to determine which team was playing on home turf.....just guessing....

That works.) Here's hoping. Cheers.
