Well... we never claim to be experts on the topics we choose - and sadly this week was one of them. Although I used to be a bit of a gym rat, both Mary and I have fallen out of the habit lately. Still, this was a super fun topic to discuss!

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?


We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?


We pick a different topic every episode, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

We are going to try out a new format for choosing topics every week! We have decided to try and do one lighter episode and one deeper one each week. Not only to help give you guys some contrast, but to help balance our energy when filming. Because we get so into each topic, sometimes having two deeper episodes back to back can be pretty emotionally taxing. We are excited to see how this format works!

So for our deeper, more conversation focused episode for next week - we will be discussing the topic of Overcoming Fears. I think this should end up being an awesome conversation because I have had to work through a ton of fears and anxieties in my own life, and I know Mary has as well. (Yes, more than just #wineanxiety) So send us your questions!

Ah, that photo is amazing! So much fierce!

So... the grunting... so I'm pretty sure that it's mostly for attention. There are some schools of thought that believe you need to push out your breath when you're striking something... you'll see it in martial arts or pro tennis players - it does give your body more power for that split second... but I don't think it translates into lifting weights because it should be a much slower more controlled action.

I've definitely had to grit my teeth and dig deep, but I don't think I've ever made that kind of grunting noise ever.

Oh Mary.... it's easily done... I've been stuck before... I was doing the bench press... it was my last rep and I thought I had another one in me... but I did not. The heavy bar pretty was on my chest and I just couldn't lift it off until someone did help me. There's a secret code... if you call out "spot" or "spotter" then someone'll help you. A spotter is usually that other muscley doofus standing near the original muscley doofus yelling at him and touching the weights at the hard bits while his friend goes red in the face. And then loudly high-fives him.

Thanks for answering my question! Shame Lea has never done anything embarrassing at the gym ever... has she even lived?

Whoa! Overcoming your fears.... huge.

What's a fear that you have now, that totally wasn't an issue when you were younger?

My question would be this, you vab both answer.

What is your greatest fear? And have you ever overcome it? How? If not yet, are you willing to take a chance in getting over it?

And waiting in front of gym for 30 minutes :D haha I always do the same but with work :D and think if I should rather go to the gym and skip the work haha :D
