The best answer I have ever gotten about why we say sorry so much as Canadians, “we have a superiority complex in being the most apologetic somehow we are better than you by being more sorry”. 😆

Sorry you girls don’t see how your the model Canadians 😉 that’s why the accent didn’t stand out in Toronto. If you want a true Canadian experience you need to go out in the boonies, prairies of Saskatchewan or Manitoba are pretty good.

Ps I think aye or eh is used by those whom wish to sport their heritage in the same way America is thought of by patriotism just a little more subtle and has function in all contexts.
