SteemSilverGold Intro
Greetings, stackers! I've been hanging out with you all for 2-3 months now and have enjoyed getting to know you along the way. I was recently nominated to join your esteemed ranks and this week SSUK posted that I got in! He also posted the interview with our buddy, @silverd510. Check it out if you haven't already.
Anyhow, now that I'm part of the group, it's only fitting that I give you a little more info about myself.
themanwithnoname
I may not have a name, but I still have that disease that has come to afflict all of us in SSG, Stackitus. I want to blame and thank all of you for that. I have collected coins for years, but never as a hobby, more as something that I would add to a box if the coin caught my eye.
At one point five or six years ago, I started going to the local coin store and buying silver american eagles for family members or close friends when they reached an accomplishment in life like a graduation or something. Even then, I didn't quite understand the importance and significance of silver and gold, but I had some inkling that it was special.
When I signed up with Steemit, I eventually saw a post from someone in #steemsilvergold and thought the silver looked really cool. I hadn't realized there were communities of people who posted about precious metals, but once I saw more of the posts, I decided I wanted more of my own. After visiting the LCS one time, I was hooked. Even since then I've been spending whatever extra cash I could get on more shiny to add to the stack.
I mainly stack for weight, but I also like to invest in unique and new (to me) pieces to keep things interesting. I'm still starting out, so I don't have a lot, but I'm focused on getting more. I'm also interested in learning more about which coins are valuable, so if any of you have wisdom you want to share, I'm ready to learn.
Silver of the Day
It wouldn't be right to leave you all without some pictures of the my collection, so here's one of the beauties that I picked up.
It's a 2015 Australian Kookaburra 1 oz coin. It carried a sizable premium to spot, but it looked so shiny that I had to add it to the stack. I didn't have one and let's face it, I wasn't going to remember the premium once I bought it, so might as well pay the price and get the coin.

The Queen
There you have it, my Silver of the Day and a short introduction about myself.
Thank you all for the warm welcome and I look forward to showing you more pictures of the shiny I collect.
Welcome and greetings fro Holland (=etherlands)
Thanks! Glad to be aboard! :)
Congrats on getting in Blondie! I knew you would win them over with your charm :D ... And a great group, if I had time I'd find a way to support them too!!!
Thanks, Dave! If you ever get the time to post about your newest acquisitions, we'd be lucky to have you. Still looking forward to those pics of what was coming in the mail. . ;)
will do on the pics... Should be roughly a week away now ;)
And I am happy you got it... its a great thing to be a stacker at this time :)
Welcome from the 2nd newest member!! I do love some Kooks and completely agree. I stack for weight, except when I don't.
Those are some great photos, I need to learn how to take those, I have to stop blaming the cameras.
As the newest member, it's an honor that I get greeted by the 2nd newest member. :D It feel sgood to be on board.
Exactly! It's kinda like this:
I've been trying things out with the camera. The lighting can get weird really easily, especially because I take the pictures by a window, so sometimes they're a little whitish. I'm still learning. :)
I have some kookaburras, but I don't collect them. I collect koalas...
Right on! Those are cool too. I haven't gotten any yet as the local coin store has always been out when I went. I also want to get a Fiji Taku, but they've been out of those too. When they get them though, I'm in. :)
Welcome to the team, looking forward to more posts.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to making them! Glad to be a part of the team.
Glad to see you've made some new friends here ;) And I love the 2015 Australian Kookaburra; it is very pretty indeed!
Yeah, I really like them. And we all like silver and gold, so I'm at home.
It is super pretty! I need to get more of the other designs from different years. They're probably more expensive, but if I only get a few, it shouldn't be too bad.
I am really glad that you found others who appreciate the same things that you do @themanwithnoname !!
I'm glad too! I like that I finally found a place on steemit where I feel like I belong. And it's really easy to post when the subject is something that you really like.
That really is great. I've yet to find that niche regarding posting and like now, think, "hmmm, what will I post today?". It gets tiresome and more times than not, I post nothing ;)
I'm sorry. It can be tough to come up with things to post about. Hopefully you can get inspired by something. Maybe you could do feature posts on local spots that you visit? I'd love to see pics/videos of the beach! :D
Thanks but I'm not terribly concerned; inspiration always eventually comes :) If that was my biggest worry in life, well...wouldn't that be nice :)
That would be wonderful if that were your only worry in life.
Although that's kinda how it is for successful writers, and they worry about it a lot because if they don't get the next book out, then all their money, power, prestige, etc go away. Then they're legally required to live in a dark, dank cellar and eat moldy bread until they've paid their dues to society for the lack of inspiring works. :D
Those are some cool coins. They have so many different designs on the Kookaburra. I haven't forgot about you, just haven't been up to the post office lately.
I like the design. I'm going to be look for more of the other years to add to the stack.
Thanks, I just got the Steem rounds, so I still have something to look forward to. :)
Look for an error, in the latest Steem Silver Round, pointed out in his latest post @jbcoin
I looked at the post and I still couldn't see an error. It looked great to me! :) Ha ha
It was obvious to me, to be the Double Die Error on the .999 in the close up photo...
Ha ha, I looked at it and still don't know what that is. I looked it up and couldn't figure it out. Maybe someone will post on what a double die looks like vs what a single die looks like.
If it is a die error, I would see it on mine too, right?

howdy there @themanwithnoname! you mean you have to qualify to get into this group? what are the qualifications? you don't even need a name!
I love the Kooks too man, that's what attracted me to Steemit in the first place.
Fortunately for me, you don't need a name to get in, just a lot of posts on precious metals and consistent interaction on the Discord channel. Then someone nominates you, someone seconds, and then a moderator has to approve you.
Heh, there are a lot of kooks on Steemit! Ha!
yeah that's why I like it!
I was gonna say something else but Jack needs to go out, he's staring at me so I'll go escort him and be back after awhile. don't stay up though just for that if you're getting ready to crash.
