Precious Metals are Falling!

"The markets are falling, the markets are falling!"

Chicken Little told us the sky was falling... and he was wrong.

But the Precious Metals markets really are falling right now. They are just getting smacked around and the prices have been dropping for the last few months, but especially in the last week.

Look at that, the price of Silver is down $0.21 today. Gold hit a 12 month low recently. These prices are a tough pill to swallow if you're trying to unload some of your precious metals, but if you're a buyer, this is a great time to be adding to the stack.

Just a few months ago, the prices were over $17.00. Now the prices are $1.50/oz less than there were. That's savings right to your pocket, or extra silver on the stack if you're buying.

If you're not buying right now, what are you waiting for?

Crypto prices are down too? Are there some good projects that you've been following and thinking about buying some shares? Again, what are you waiting for?

I can't make you buy, but the prices are lower than they've been for a while. Are you going to take the plunge?

The prices will take off at some point. Will you be ready?

Note: I'm not a licensed professional, so I can't give you investment advice. I can tell you that as a collector and a stacker, I have been adding to my holdings during this down market. You shouldn't make your decisions based on what I do, but I thought you should know I am actually buying right now. Your decisions are your own.

I generally don't mind it when precious metals go down, because, supposedly, it's a sign of a wider robust economy. After so many years of quantitative easing and other chicanery, on top of the chicanery that already exists, I'm not so sure what falling precious metal prices are supposed to mean anymore.

I do know that I start paying attention to it all a lot more the closer Silver gets to $10. I know it hasn't been there in a quite a while, but there was a time a few years back that I believe it was down to $13. It's been a while, but I almost went and got some then.

I know, I almost do that a lot. All talk, no walk. Or as the ranchers would say, all hat and no cattle.

At any rate, Bitcoin took off, and it's taking a lot of things with it, including STEEM. So, what do you think. Are we in the middle of a market wide pump and dump, where we end up back at around $1.25, or are we finally on our way up (for a while).

Don't worry. I won't take it as investment advice. I will do my own homework, and I will consider it for its pure entertainment value only. :)

It's hard to tell why the prices go up or down. It seems like it should go up, but it goes down. It seems like it should go down, it goes up. It's bassakwards. I don't know what to make of it, but I do know that cheaper silver means I get more of it for each of my dollars, so I don't complain.

I would love to see it at $10. That would be amazing. I would buy up all the silver. All of it. :P

Bitcoin is on the move for now. I don't know if this is the big wave, or if we're waiting for something else. It jumped hundreds of dollars in less than half an hour. Seems like it would need some larger players to do that. I'm just saying. If Bitcoin keeps rising, I think Steem will too. I have yet to see if that will happen though.

Heh, good man. You already know the drill.

Well, according to dragosroua, Coinbase will begin to feature security backed cryptos, whatever those might be, along with the ones they were already selling, and that Black Rock, a big investment fund, is doing what Goldman Sachs said it would do a few months back—form a division to explore crypto trading. I don't know if this is the tip of that yet, but potentially closer to the end of the year.

Right now, I would not be surprised if this is just more playing around, getting our hopes up before squashing them. I would think the institutional money would want it as low as it could go, though, before they showed up, which would have meant, if they were ready, they would've jumped on board at $1.25.

"Don't listen to me. What do I know about any of this. I'm the one who predicted Costco would go out of business back in 1995."

I'd like it to drop below $1 before it shoots back up for good. Then those who stay will be able to load up on Steem at a good price. Those who aren't committed will leave and those who stay will be able to get rewarded.

I love Costco! Say it ain't so. :)

It was a low moment. I was turning 30, I think, the year of my first pre-mid-life crisis, and I was just not happy with me, or the world. I was talking to a good friend from work and somehow we got onto Costco and I can't even remember if we had a membership yet, but I think we did, and all I could think of was the money we would spend there and I was tired of spending money all the time.

Anyway, the economic forces and the good business practices of Costco were not in my favor for such a prediction. And now they're taking away my polish dogs! If there ever was a time for them to go out of business, just for that treachery, it would be now!

We all get it wrong sometimes. For what it's worth, I'm glad Costco is still around.

What? They're taking away the polish dogs? That's crazy talk! I hadn't realized that was happening. All good things come to an end, I guess. There's always the hot dog. Or you can buy the polish dogs in bulk and grill them at home. Or you can get one of the new healthier options. :P

It's the 'healthier' options that are making the polish dogs go away. For me, it was less about the taste really—they're fine, but I really like German sausage better, but you can't find that as easily—but more about the price. It's really tough to beat a dog and a drink for $1.50.

As it is, hot dogs aren't my favorite food. I just eat them because others like them or the price. You can feed four adults on $6, unless they have larger appetites and you spring for a slice of pizza or something. Still, amazingly cheap. :)

The price really can't be beat. I don't think they've made money on those things for a long time, but people really liked the price so they kept it. Why not, if it's getting people in the door, right? It's called a loss leader.

Hang in there. I hear there are petitions being started to bring the polish dog back. We'll see if it works.

hey buddy, Could you take advantage of the downside and buy silver?

Absolutely. I just went and got a little more the other day. I don't have an overabundance to spend on it, but I buy what I can. I try to add a little at a time.

How are you doing?

Certainly is time to buy! Crypto market had a nice spike today though.

Yeah, Bitcoin jumped and everything else followed suit.

I wish I could have gotten more silver, but I'm actually hoping that the price gets pushed down to $15. Then I would be able to get a bit more. And I'd have more time in the meantime to get more money together.

Yup it's all about timing! That's for sure...

It is time to buy! Prices will climb up by October.

I'm all about that buying! It's nice that it's cheaper. I like saving $1.50 each one.

I do not know how much lower they can get. Gotta get it while you can folks!

I'm surprised that they're as low as they are. The guy at the coin store today said that he's losing money on everything he's selling.

This weekend I bought more than 1Kg of Swiss junk silver (83.5%) at a very sweet price, here in Brazil.

Congrats! That's super cool. I haven't seen much of that, but good for you for seeing such a great opportunity and taking advantage of it.
