The Death Dollar, @fat-elvis & miscellany

in #steemsilvergold7 years ago

Hi friends!

So it’s not even a remotely fair fight anymore — and we are winning!

I “converted” some crypto to cash and paid a visit to my lcs today, just ‘cause the online order i placed yesterday won’t land for a few days... the jones is in full bloom.

Check out the heist! This is the stuff that makes @fat-elvis do thefunky-chicken dance!

Here’s the splash: including 10 x canadian dollars and 5 x US 1/2’s

All these coins were purchased with profits from crypto. Simply buying them is a great way to hedge against the unknown and a dollar that is in free-fall for purchase power. The above cost me juat $240 cad — that’s about $185 usd, bit since i used profits from crypto trading one could argue that they were free.

Holy crap! I just checked my receipt and realize they charged me for 5$ of American face instead of the 5 coins — so i am going back ther to pick up my 5 x usd halves. My lcs charges by dollar of face value for junk and my clerk was obviously bamboozled by the shiny that he forgot store policy. Lol

Anyway, the bill was $242 cad, $14.50 for the Canadian dollars, and $17 cad for 2 halves of the us90.

Thanks ssg! If i hadn’t written this post i would never have noticed that i got underserved!

Rock on!

🐥🐤🐥🐤 yeah buddy! Nice score. Gotta love the death dollars, and a '39 King George! Well looted friend

What is a death dollar? Not heard that one before...

That's a name given to the 1958 totem pole Canadian dollar. Death totem.

I have family in Brockville, ON...next time I'm there, I'll head to the LCS and pick one up. That is a cool coin.

fiat cash is dead my friend
Soon to find it dreadful end
End your love of paper green
Crypto now has made the scene
Steeming forth with far to go
Go and find your cash will grow
or trade steem for silver and gold
Metals hold their value I'm told.
Stock up on hard assets and be
on your own and living free
agree to leave the dollar bill
or choose to take a bitter pill.
Still while you hold that fiat trash
like toilet paper will be your cash.

An original poem I just wrote inspired by your post. Thanks my friend.

@thedamus I am Truly Humbled by the HUGE Payout on this Posting. Did I tell you The Lady of the Bunker is back Pouring her Gold Bar @stokjockey's VLOG ???

Beautiful shiny there bud! Sent the cashier into a trance :-)

Nice pickups! I had the Jones yesterday when JM posted their sales.. I resisted though. Cashed out my QTUM coin yesterday for a whopping $1200 profit and wanted to put some towards silver. Headed to Mexico Friday so trying to stay disciplined.

Using one's brain while there need be.
Correct step man.

That’s the way you do it!!!

Olé!!!

I've been seeing the Value of my Steem Rising like Crazy lately... I'm still not sure if Steem Dollars are worth more than Steem Power...
@pocketechange

Learn quick bro!

Those are awesome. I love the British Columbia centenial coins.
I always prefer circulated coins as they feel like history.
I also prefer old and beat up hot wheels.
Both hold less value than mint or uncirculated, but they dont tell the same stories....

I had hot wheels in my day. And today my sons’ have hotwheels. I hear ya!

I even built&painted a hotwheels dragstrip out of a 9” x 8’ piece of plywood (off-cut). My 5yr old loves it!!!

I have a 5 foot tube from a roll of industrial bags that we painted fire engine red. My son places it on the couch or coffee table and uses it as a tunnel .
He like it more than most of the actual tracks we have.

Ha! Sweet!!! Nothing better than a big ol’ tube :)
