Vote Weight Boost and some ROI Estimates

We are a week into April and things are settling down nicely. There have been a few issues with Steemit itself with Wallets displaying out-dated data and other services like Steemd.com affected but it hasn’t disrupted us too badly. Votes are still going out and our Voting Power for @SSG-Community is pretty stable in the high 80s. So that means it’s time to boost those Vote Weights as promised and head toward our Target Voting Power of 80%. As of today everyone should be getting 110% of what they were getting yesterday, across the board.

The other good news is we did pick up a late SP Lease bid on MinnowBooster which has given us an extra 10K SP, plus we have secured another small off-market SP Lease at a good rate for 4K so we are now up to 91,806 SP and we should remain that high for the whole of April. It is a lot better than many of us expected for our first month, but we’re not complaining!

Now that our SP and membership looks pretty stable we are able to have a bit of an estimate on what sort of Return On Investment our contributors might be getting. It is important to clarify up front that ROI is not the main focus of this initiative because this initiative is primarily about building and supporting the #SteemSilverGold community members. But ROI is still important to keep an eye on because we do want our members to grow. We do want to be competitive with some of the other For-Profit Subscription Bots out there while still being able to give something back to the broader SSG community.

Prices can fluctuate a bit over the month but for these calculations we will take the current STEEM at $1.73 and STEEM DOLLAR at $1.86. We will also use the calculator at steemnow.com to see what our vote values will likely be for our Target Voting Power of 80%. These numbers will be conservative as our Voting Power is currently over 87% but since increasing Vote Weights by 10% we should expect our Voting Power to head toward 80% over the course of the month. That is just how the system rebalances itself.

*NOTE – The Vote Value is what the system records the value of the vote, but it does not represent the Actual Value of the vote received by the Author. To calculate the Actual Value of your vote you need to account for Curation reward being taken out (which goes back to @SSG-Community and rewards your followers) and then also add the boost from the inflated STEEM DOLLAR price.

All up this ROI is very competitive with what other For-Profit services in the market are offering. Keep in mind that instead of taking profit off the top from curation rewards and self-votes, this initiative has a Not-For-Profit model and gives all that back. It pushes all that value out the bottom by helping the newer / poorer members of the group to get going on the platform so they can grow organically within the community via the Non-Contributor Votes.
