Mid-April Technical Update
We’re more than half way through April and on the technical front things have been running smoothly. In the world of Techos often "No News is Good News" and it seems to apply pretty well to where we are right now. That said it’s about time for another Technical Update for those who like to look under the covers a bit, so here goes.
Our SP is currently over 95K and our Voting Power is around 75% which is a little lower than our Target but it’s still well within tolerance levels. We are already starting to look toward May and while we are expecting some steady growth of Contributions our Donations might be lower, so if we do drop back our SP a little for May it will be good to have our VP running slightly lower than Target. There should be no real need to adjust our Vote Weights as long as VP is stable above 70%, so that’s good news. That said, here are some of the Voting Statistics so you can see for yourself what our Silver Mermaid has been up to.
In this chart we see the total number of votes being cast by @ssg-community and while the first few days were a bit volatile it is stabilising around 70-85 votes per day with a very gradual upward trend. All this is pretty positive to see. It is a daily average of 74.70 votes per day over this period and since every member gets 3.30% Vote Weight regardless of contribution we can calculate this Non-Contributor component of our Daily Voting accounts to be a Total Vote Weight of approximately 74.70 x 3.30% = 246.51%. This is right on target with our Non-Contributor Voting Budget at 250% (representing 20% of the Total Vote Budget of 1250%)
Here we see the actual Vote Weights being cast each day in Orange, against the Daily Voting Budget in Red. You’ll notice the Red line was low at the start of April when we wanted our Voting Power higher before the SP Leases came in and we then ramped it up to 1250% (Target Voting Power 80%) once our SP Leases were all filled. Once again it looks like everything is on track here.
Finally, we’ve had a couple of enquiries about late contributions and if/when we will be offering another Early Bird Special for May. Since we are past the half-way point in the month we aren’t taking any more Contributions as we would like to see things remain stable and we are not anticipating having to adjust Vote Weights again during April unless SSG Member posting activity drastically changes. We will probably open up for May Contributions in about 1 week. It is going to depend on how the SP Lease market looks as to whether there will be another Early Bird Special and that will probably be dependent on the prices of STEEM and SBD. More information about that soon so in the meantime just keep making great content about Silver and Gold, enjoy the supportive votes from our Precious Silver Mermaid and don’t forget to vote on our Logo HERE
I don't know how numerically important it is but why don't we follow the old Stax rule of upvoting your posts? Maybe a minimum value for the upvote and when the 100% upvote is not high enough, accept it.
For me personally I don't like to make anything compulsory. Lots of our members have different strength upvotes too, so it's difficult to try and equal them all out and be fair to everyone.
I like to think of upvotes on these posts as a way of Donating with no strings attached. In a community like this we don't really need to hit the Trending page to get the word out so upvotes here are really only about fund raising. Compulsory fund raising sounds too much like taxation for me....
Besides, people are sending Delegations or Liquid STEEM as Contributions that are returned via stronger votes so we don't need post upvotes as another Contribution channel. Having a voluntary and easy way for members to just Donate is nice.
hiya buddy! i just got my delegation switched over to you Precious :) so thats 1000sp for my silver tier. then 100sp for @dixiesilverminer and 100sp for @gdwcoins.i think there sorted for this month but add them for next month please. GO TEAM SSG!!
Thanks for the support. Much appreciated :)
While we're on the subject of supporting the community, I'd like to remind everyone to consider joining the @raybrockman curation trail, as described in this post: https://steemit.com/steemsilvergold/@darkmrmystic/join-the-ray-brockman-trail . At last check, I noticed only 12 accounts are following this trail. It is only a suggestion, but I think it's a good one!
Thank you all for the support!
I'm stocked up on steem when we're ready. Thanks for the hard work
