April Begins with a Bang for SSG-Community!

Our Test Period for March is now officially over. We’ve had no significant technical issues and we’ve had some overwhelming support from the members of #SteemSilverGold so there is every reason to be optimistic for the month ahead.

We now have 60 contributing members who have either Delegated SP or sent Liquid STEEM toward this SSG-Community initiative and that is a big number. It is a testament to this great community that so many have chipped in to get behind an initiative that can support the whole membership and help promote something we all love talking about - Silver and Gold.

Our Voting Power is currently sitting at around 94% after we flirted with 100% a couple of times over the weekend when things got a bit quiet. We’ve added a few late contributors to the voting configuration today and as the leases start to get filled we will head toward that Target Voting Power of 80%, but for now we are happy to keep that Voting Power a bit high until we get those leases filled. Our total SP is at 33,462 right now and that number should jump over the coming days as the leased power starts to come in.

We have had a bit of difficulty getting leased SP at a good rate. Our team of volunteers have been working pretty hard behind the scenes trying to negotiate with some of the whales but so far we have been unsuccessful in negotiating a fair market rate for SP via off-market channels. However, we currently have some bids on MinnowBooster and we have secured our first 5,000 SP Lease through them at a rate of about 2.88% per month. The other lease requests we hope to fill at a similar rate over the coming days as activity on the platform picks up again after the long weekend. We are also trying to get @ssg-community listed as a community account on MinnowBooster as that will help us to get some better exposure for our bids. We will send out more info on the lease situation over the coming days as it comes to hand.

For now, here is the breakdown of our Contributor Tiers and the voting configuration for each :-

Of course ALL 180+ members of SteemSilverGold will get a base vote of 3% regardless of the contribution and the math for the above vote weights is basically calculated as 3% plus 2.10% for every 100 SP or 4 STEEM Contributed. It is intended to be fair and equitable for all contributors regardless of whether they are big or small while still supporting the broader community and the great content we all enjoy.
