It was the Twin Towers that was first attacked that fateful day of September 11, 2001. This silver round depicts the iconic World Trade Center building of New York City.

On December 18, 2001, Congress approved naming September 11 “Patriot Day” to commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. In 2009, Congress named September 11 a National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Much like most tragic events I can remember where I was and what I was doing. The way to give power to all those that past is to never give into fear. Fear if the unknown, feat of the what if, fear of those that would harm. Prepare for the worse and stay strong be the sheep dog protecting the flock not the sheep scared of both the wolf and the sheepdog. You are FIRST to comment on this article, @saffisara!!! Today is a day of remembrance, I still recall the horror I felt that day and the sadness for weeks that I felt in my heart.

The younger of my 2 brothers enlisted right after the attacks, the older one being already in the military. They were ready to defend our freedoms. I will never forget.

It sure was and I think most of us remember what we did that Day. I was home at my parentes, sick and remember I called my mom and she didn't belive me at first.

I remember being on the bus to my nursing school thinking about my kids, my new job when someone shouted out the event in real time from his radio

Fortunately I don’t have a kid. But this morning I recalled that many children their parents that day. @saffisara both my parents and brothers have gone to heaven. I am alone, and live alone.
